Introduction

We are looking for a Project Procurement Manager to support Grinding project procurement activities in China. In this role, you will manage procurement execution, supplier coordination, quotations, purchase orders, logistics support, and supplier development activities.

 

Team you will belong to

You will join Procurement team and work with Product Lines, Local Project Teams, QA, GSC, suppliers, logistics stakeholders, and other internal business partners.

 

What you’ll do

  • Handle Grinding project procurement activities in China.
  • Provide support to proposal for both Local projects and overseas projects.-Handle quotations from suppliers. Clarify supply scope and technical requirement. Send RFQ and get quotation from qualified suppliers. Provide prompt feedback on proposal requests.
  • Work with Product Lines and Local Project Team to implement procurement functions.
  • Identify/develop qualified suppliers together with QA.
  • Negotiate price and lead time with suppliers. Placing PO and execution of POs, including, clarification on technical data/requirement/schedule/delivery, etc.
  • Manage/resolve operational issues to ensure orders are delivered on time. Provide progress report to Production Lines or Local Project Team on regular basis.
  • Identify problems during PO execution, evaluate cause of the problems and find solutions for corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with QA team on quality inspection. Work with QA team to make sure orders are delivered to Specification.
  • Assist on logistics, import/export formalities, prepare shipping document/tag wherever needed. Make sure the goods are delivered and Cargo Receipt is duly signed.
  • Make sure payment document is in order and milestones are met. Process payment application for local projects.
  • Monitor and analyze Suppliers’ performance on an on-going basis. Update the qualified vendor list based on Supplier performance.
  • Manage relationship with Suppliers. Develop strong network of Metso Supplier base and establish trust working relationship with Suppliers.
  • Provide analyze report on raw material, pricing, vendor qualifications, evaluation for Supplier Database
    Achieve Procurement KPIs set targets by GSC.
  • Coordinate the new suppliers’ development.
  • Visit the existing and potential suppliers with TECH and GSC to discuss and exchange ideas on the existing and updated specifications.
  • Take part in the development and evaluation of the new suppliers based on the updated specifications together with GSC. Deploying supplier audit program and follow up outcomes.
  • Analysing the non-conformities and claims relating the supplier management and achieving corrective actions internally and among suppliers.
  • Give technical comments on product quality problems of suppliers. Take part in different problem solving, analysing processes, and documenting the root causes and to following up the agreed corrective actions.
  • Other tasks assigned by manager.

 

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) may be preferred.
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to procurement and sourcing.
  • Proficiency in using sourcing and procurement software.
  • Hard working, and team work spirit.
