We are looking for a Chief Engineer, Mechanical to join our Minerals Plant Engineering team in the Minerals business area. In this role, you will take technical ownership of mechanical equipment solutions and support the successful delivery of customer projects across Metso’s concentrator and hydrometallurgical technology areas.

You will report to the Director, Plant & Mechanical Engineering, and the role location is Espoo, Finland, with a hybrid working model available. Occasional travel to customer sites is required.

Team you will belong to

You will join the Minerals Plant Engineering team in Espoo. The team is responsible for developing and delivering mechanical engineering solutions that support plant delivery projects and customer requirements.

The team works closely with project teams, sales, supply, and delivery organizations to ensure that equipment specifications, drawings, and engineering solutions meet project and technology requirements.

What you'll do

• Take overall technical responsibility for equipment specifications, drawings, design, and analysis.
• Collaborate with project teams to define and clarify equipment requirements.
• Maintain and develop non-proprietary equipment specifications and drawing databases.
• Lead and contribute to mechanical engineering activities in delivery projects.
• Act as a mechanical engineering expert within Metso’s concentrator and hydrometallurgical technology areas.
• Support sales, supply, and project delivery activities with technical expertise.
• Coordinate mechanical design solutions in line with project requirements.
• Maintain product structures in the Product Data Management (PDM) system.

• Degree in engineering or another relevant technical field.
• Ability to take technical ownership of mechanical engineering solutions and equipment deliveries.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
• Manage subcontracted engineering work.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with different stakeholders.
• Good cooperation skills and the ability to build productive working relationships.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites.
