Introduction
We are seeking a Vice President of Project Delivery to join our team. You will be responsible for leading the successful execution of managed projects, ensuring they are delivered on-time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This global role involves overseeing projects, building and guiding teams of engineers and project managers, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The VP will bridge customer needs with the overall Metso organization, aligning project delivery strategies with company goals and is a key role for the operational success of the Business Line. In this position, you will report to the SVP, Grinding.
This position is mainly located primarily in York, PA, Espoo, FI, West Perth, AU but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. There will be 40% travel required for the role.

You will join a team of industry experts in project management and grinding technologies dedicated to delivering high-quality, efficient project solutions. Our team is passionate about innovation and excellence and strives to optimize project delivery processes and exceed client expectations.We are currently working on multiple large-scale grinding projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
We work closely with internal stakeholders, such as engineering, product development, and leadership teams, and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

What you’ll do
- Lead and Motivate: Manage a global team of project managers and delivery engineers, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Strategic Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to enhance project delivery processes and ensure compliance with Metso policies.
- Training and Development: Arrange continuous training and development for delivery staff to maintain high standards.
- Project Governance: Lead project governance within the business to ensure alignment with company goals.
- On-Time Delivery: Ensure all projects meet contractual obligations and are delivered on-time, on-spec, and within budget.
- Performance Management: Oversee project performance, providing regular status updates to stakeholders.
- Sales Support: Offer project management expertise to support sales and secure profitable project wins.
- Coordination: Ensure smooth communication and coordination with all project interfaces and stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to reduce lead time, cost, and improve project profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Risk Management: Execute risk management strategies and handle change orders and claims effectively.
- Warranty Support: Manage and drive warranty cases related to delivered projects.
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and addressing any concerns.
- Financial Oversight: Prepare and manage project delivery budgets, monitor costs, and ensure financial targets are met.
Who you are
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is required; an advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in Engineering) is highly preferred.
- Industry Experience: At least 15 years of experience in the heavy machinery industry, with a strong preference for experience in mineral processing.
- Leadership Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a leadership role, managing large, cross-functional teams.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Project Management Tools: Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
- Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of SAP, Salesforce, and Power BI.
- Travel: Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
