Introduction

 

We are seeking a Manager, BDH Technical Sales Support to join our team. You will be responsible for leading a team of BDH (Beneficiation, Dewatering and Hydrometallurgy) Technical Sales Support product experts, executing the business line product strategy for sales growth and profitability. In this role, you will work closely with Account Managers and Product Specialists to develop customer solutions and drive business growth. You will report to the Director, TSS/FS/REP, USA Mining Services.

 

This position is mainly located in York PA, with up to 50% travel required. Flexible working arrangements may be available.

You will join a team of technical sales support specialists dedicated to delivering product expertise and supporting sales growth for BDH (Beneficiation, Dewatering and Hydrometallurgy) products. Our team collaborates closely with Account Managers, Product Line, Commercial Proposal, and Customer Logistics organizations. We value teamwork, customer focus, and continuous improvement, with team members located across various regions.

 

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Market Areas BDH (Beneficiation, Dewatering and Hydrometallurgy) Technical Sales Support team.
  • Work with the sales team to implement campaigns, manage opportunity funnels, set priorities, and develop solutions.
  • Collaborate with Product Line to deploy new product information, campaigns, best practices, sales training, and technology-specific value arguments.
  • Ensure Site Account Managers have adequate training and support to sell BDH products.
  • Oversee timely progress of sales cases from lead to proposal and negotiations.
  • Coordinate strategic sales initiatives for BDH products.
  • Support the Commercial Proposal Team in reviewing complex proposal offerings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Customer Logistics to ensure cost competitiveness, proposal development, quality products, and appropriate inventory levels.
  • Participate in monthly Product Line reviews, opportunity funnel discussions, sales reviews, resource planning, and market intelligence gathering.
  • Support Life Cycle Service for contract renewals and new opportunities, providing product knowledge to reduce maintenance costs and recommend modifications or replacements.
  • Provide product-level information to assist the sales team with yearly forecasts.
  • Ensure follow-up on installations and gather information for product improvements.
  • Maintain detailed market intelligence in cooperation with the Sales Area organization.
  • Understand the market, competition, and industry best practices for defined technology, ensuring sales cases are built accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with sales process, proposal, and risk management procedures.
  • Support warranty process, IB validation, inspection report reviews, recommendations, and solution definition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Be prepared to spend at least 50% of the time at customer sites.

 

 


Who you are:

 

  • Engineering degree or relevant technical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in progressively responsible positions, including interpreting customer specifications and customer relations.
  • Familiarity with the broad range of Metso BDH products.
  • Strong customer service and satisfaction capabilities.
  • Ability to evaluate customer needs, including occasional plant visits.
  • Willingness to actively engage in problem-solving opportunities.
  • High level of computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Salesforce, SAP).
  • Highly motivated, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong drive and performance orientation.
  • Excellent communication, cooperation, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled at building and managing internal relationships and understanding customer needs and market requirements.
