Introduction
We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer, Minerals to join our Supplier Quality team. You will be responsible for performing product audits on delivered equipment, ensuring all scope and quality requirements meet project standards. This involves evaluating complex products and fabrication processes, monitoring supplier performance, and driving corrective and preventive actions. Your role is crucial in ensuring product compliance, strengthening supplier quality, and supporting operational excellence.
In this position, you will report to the Manager, Supply & Procurement USA.
This position is mainly located in [York,PA, however it involves up to 40% global travel, often on short notice.
Team you belong to
You will join a team of supplier quality and manufacturing quality experts dedicated to ensuring product compliance, enhancing supplier performance, and delivering reliable, high‑quality equipment to customers. We are currently working on supplier audits, quality improvement initiatives, NCR/EA management, and supplier development activities.
We collaborate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, suppliers, and end customers. Our team culture is built on professionalism, continuous improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and a strong commitment to quality. Team members are located in various regions globally.
What you’ll do
- Conduct product audits and inspections to verify compliance with technical and project requirements.
- Develop and maintain QA documentation, including Quality Plans, ITPs, procedures, and Supplier Quality Manuals.
- Identify nonconformances, issue NCRs, perform RCAs, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Plan, conduct, and close supplier audits, ensuring timely follow-up on findings.
- Manage Exception Approvals, Goods Movements, and Quality Notes with internal teams and suppliers.
- Support supplier development activities, re-audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Host customers during inspections and support technical and quality review activities.
- Prepare quality reports and collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, procurement, and project teams.
Who you are
- You have a Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or a related technical field.
- You bring 5+ years of experience in heavy manufacturing.
- You have strong knowledge of welding, machining, casting, and international codes (AWS, CWB, ASME, EN).
- You are familiar with NDT techniques, especially UT and MPI.
- You have experience auditing and inspecting suppliers, ideally within the USA.
- You are self‑motivated, able to work independently, and comfortable making decisions.
- You have strong communication skills and stakeholder management abilities.
- You are adaptable to changing business needs and capable of navigating diverse cultures.
- Nice to have: Experience with auditing methodologies, quality cost management, or supplier chargeback processes.
