Introduction

 

We are seeking a Senior Project Purchasing Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for key driver of procurement success within Aftermarket Engineer-to-Order (ETO) projects, taking full ownership of purchasing execution and supply chain performance from project initiation through final delivery. This role is accountable for meeting critical KPIs—including on-time delivery, contract acceptance, and supplier performance—and serves as a strategic partner to project management, engineering, and supplier teams. In this position, you will report to Senior Manager, Project Purchasing.

 

This position is mainly located in York or Pittsburgh PA, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.

You will join the team with high level of autonomy and responsibility, the Senior Specialist ensures that all contractual purchasing obligations are fulfilled with precision, transparency, and proactive risk mitigation. This role demands a strong sense of ownership, leadership in cross-functional collaboration, and a results-driven mindset to support overall project success.


We work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as project managers, engineering teams, suppliers, and logistics partners. Our team culture is all about efficiency, accountability, and proactive problem-solving. The members in our team are located in Brazil, Chile, Australia, Finland, and the USA.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Drive strategic supplier relationships and lead high-impact contract negotiations that deliver measurable results in cost, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Navigate global trade regulations with confidence, ensuring full compliance with international standards and corporate policies.
  • Own the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for complex Engineer-to-Order (ETO) projects—aligning purchasing activities with project timelines, budgets, and technical specifications.
  • Create and manage purchase orders with precision, based on project manager inputs, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Lead supplier performance management, proactively resolving delivery challenges and escalating risks to keep projects on track.
  • Facilitate project kick-off and milestone meetings, aligning procurement strategies with cross-functional stakeholder expectations.
  • Champion operational excellence in procurement processes, leveraging your expertise in strategic sourcing and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure full compliance with Global Procurement Policies, corporate standards, and legal frameworks.
  • Coordinate international logistics and documentation, ensuring smooth and compliant delivery of project-critical materials.
  • Manage inventory movements specific to each project, including stock reservations and transfers, with full accountability for accuracy and timing.
  • Track and improve procurement KPIs, such as on-time delivery, cost variance, and supplier quality, using data-driven insights.
  • Leverage advanced ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for procurement execution, reporting, and analytics.
  • Identify and close process gaps, driving procurement innovation and best practices across global teams.

 

Who you are

 

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field—bringing a strong academic foundation to your strategic decision-making.
  • You bring 7+ years of progressive procurement experience within the machinery, engineering, or industrial manufacturing sectors, with a proven track record of delivering results in complex, high-stakes environments.
  • You thrive in project-based and Engineer-to-Order (ETO) settings, where agility, precision, and cross-functional collaboration are key to success.
  • You’re a strategic thinker and hands-on executor, capable of navigating global supply chains, managing supplier relationships, and driving procurement excellence from start to finish.
  • You’re known for your attention to detail, negotiation skills, and ability to align procurement activities with broader business goals.
