Introduction
We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our SVS GBP Grinding Product Engineering team. You will be responsible for leading engineering efforts for upgrades, modifications, and new product development, which involves providing direct support during equipment breakdowns and repairs. Your role plays a crucial part in expanding our aftermarket product portfolio and ensuring operational excellence, which will positively impact customer satisfaction and equipment reliability. In this position, you will report to the Engineering Manager, SVS GBP Grinding Product Engineering.
This position is mainly located in York, PA, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. Travel of up to 20% may be required, both domestically and internationally.
Team you belong to
You will join a team of experienced engineers specializing in grinding product engineering who are passionate about delivering innovative solutions that extend equipment life and optimize performance. Our team strives to develop aftermarket solutions and support critical field operations. We are currently working on upgrades, retrofits, and new product development projects and engineering support for breakdowns and repairs.
We work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as Field Service Teams, Global Engineering Teams, and key customers. Our team culture is all about collaboration, agility, and continuous improvement. The members in our team are located in multiple regions worldwide.
What you’ll do
- Lead engineering and development of structural and mechanical systems for Grinding Mills and handling equipment, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and quality standards.
- Manage multiple engineering projects from concept through execution, ensuring timely completion within budget.
- Prepare mechanical and structural 3D models, drawings, specifications, and procedures for fabrication and assembly.
- Perform calculations to ensure safe function of equipment for refurbishment, upgrade, or retrofit.
- Partner with the global GBP Engineering team to implement upgrades and modifications that enhance equipment performance.
- Collaborate with Field Service Teams to provide expert engineering support during breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Provide advanced technical guidance to internal teams and customers, solving complex engineering challenges.
- Ensure all engineering documentation is accurate and compliant with industry standards.
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in mining or heavy equipment industries.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor) and strong knowledge of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with machine design principles, including static and fatigue-loaded structures, material selection, and power transmission.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure during equipment breakdowns.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a global, fast-paced environment and collaborate across cultures.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% as needed.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Apron Feeders, Belt Feeders, Rotary Car Dumpers, Conveyor Belts, and similar machinery.)
