Are you an expert in process automation and software development looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team at Metso Bulk Material Handling Engineering. In this pivotal role, you'll drive the design and development of cutting-edge control systems, contributing to both product innovation and customer project success. Reporting directly to the Director of Bulk Material Handling Electrical & Automation, you will be an integral part of a global team dedicated to excellence.

 

Located in vibrant York, PA, this role offers flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options, with just 10% travel required.

 

 

What You’ll do as a Senior Control System Engineer

 

  • Innovative Design: Lead the engineering design and development of advanced process automation solutions, including preparation of design specifications and development of PLC and SCADA systems.
  • Advanced Control: Develop and maintain Advanced Process Control (APC) systems and machine process design architecture, ensuring alignment with Metso's standard product portfolio and customer-specific solutions.
  • Collaborative Development: Work closely with a team of Control System Engineers, interacting regularly with internal and external customers and suppliers to support product development and project delivery.
  • Global Impact: Be part of a global team, contributing to international projects and leveraging a worldwide network of peers.

 

 

Who You Are

 

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA, and Advance Process Control systems. Experience with industrial process control design, network architecture, and MES/ERP integrations is essential.
  • Fieldbus Protocols: Skilled in the development and implementation of industrial fieldbus protocols.
  • Experience: Background in bulk material handling processes is highly desirable.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to address complex engineering challenges effectively.
