Introduction
We are seeking a Product Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive handbooks and assisting in the product development cycle as well as business development tasks for Metso's key machines, including horizontal grinding mills, stirred mills, rotary kilns, railcar dumpers and other similar products. In this position, you will report to Director, Growth & Innovation.
This position is mainly located in York, PA but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. The role includes 15% travel.
Team you belong to
You will join a team of product technicians dedicated to Identify and prioritize products to be documented based on market demand and product complexity.
We work closely with stakeholders to define the project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines. We collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, such as engineering teams and production departments, as well as external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers. Our team culture emphasizes collaboration, continuous improvement, and a steadfast commitment to quality. Team members are strategically located in York,PA.
What you’ll do
- Create Standard Templates: Develop comprehensive outlines/templates to document the complete offering of each product.
- Data Collection: Identify and gather product data sources, including information, drawings, and links, addressing any data gaps.
- Content Assembly: Assemble content according to the outline, ensuring consistency and completeness.
- Stakeholder Review: Submit content to relevant stakeholders for review and editing, incorporating feedback through multiple review steps.
- Marketing Collaboration: Interface with Marketing for the production and application of completed workbooks, ensuring quality through multiple review steps.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Who you are
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical writing, or a related field.
- Experience: Relevant experience required.
- Technical Writing: Exceptional technical writing and communication skills.
- Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of mechanical and industrial equipment is advantageous.
- Travel: Willingness to travel up to 15% globally.
