Are you a talented Mechanical Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to make a global impact? We’re seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our dynamic Global Engineering team and support the Metso Services group for the Grinding Bulk Pyro (GBP) business unit.

Your Role:

  • Design & Fabrication: Prepare mechanical drawings for fabrication, construction, and installation of equipment or services to refurbish, upgrade, or retrofit.
  • Engineering Excellence: Apply mechanical engineering principles and best practices to meet customer requirements and specifications.
  • Creative Solutions: Develop design ideas and solutions for mechanical equipment, performing timely engineering calculations and reviewing drawings for accuracy.
  • Global Support: Provide local and global expertise in design, fabrication, quality assurance, sourcing, and troubleshooting.
  • Customer Engagement: Visit customer offices and plants to assess physical restrictions or limitations for refurbishment, upgrade, or retrofit.
  • Problem Solver: Investigate mechanical issues and propose corrective actions or repair procedures.
  • Process Improvement: Offer input to facilitate process improvement and enhance efficiency.
  • Team Collaboration: Work as a member of an interdisciplinary team, showing commitment to quality, ethics, and safety.
  • Mentor & Trainer: Train and mentor junior engineers and designers, sharing your knowledge and expertise.

 

Who You Are:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Experience in engineering equipment for the mining, mineral processing, or similar heavy industries.
  • Strong experience with 2D and 3D design, preferably with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Mechanical. FEA modeling experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office Products, and Power BI is a plus.
  • Ability to make decisions independently while working as part of a team, even under pressure.
  • Advanced in English, both spoken and written. Spanish is a plus.
