Introduction:

 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Services, Grinding, Bulk, and Pyro (SVS GBP) Global Product Engineering team. This internship offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in the mining, design and manufacturing, and heavy equipment sectors, working on projects that contribute to industry advancements.

 
This position is located in York, PA.


 
What you’ll do:  

 

  • Prepares design ideas and solutions for mechanical equipment; performs engineering calculations in a timely manner. Reviews drawings and parts bills for accuracy.
  • Prepares detailed and assembly drawings for the upgrade of existing equipment.
  • Communicates with Engineers and Designers to provide support as needed.   •    Utilizes computer hardware and software effectively to perform duties (SAP, Inventor, AutoCAD, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Performs other duties and tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor (field trips, CAD projects, etc).
  • Project assignments and direction can also come from other Engineers.
  • Interfaces extensively with Engineering department Engineers and Designers.
  • Other tasks as assigned
     

Who you are:

 

  • Mechanical Engineering student.
  • Two years of studies completed.
  • Experience with CAD software, such as FEA and Autodesk Inventor or equivalent. •    Autonomous, capable of making decisions, work with minimum supervision.
  • Good communication skills in English (Both spoken and written) but, Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and lead small technical projects.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings in the English and Metric System.
  • Adequate computer skills, capable of working with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail.
  • Professional experience in a mechanical industry is a plus.
