We are seeking Field Service Apprentices to join our Field Services Training Program team. You will be responsible for learning and performing mechanical tasks related to equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, which involves hands-on work with Metso’s cutting-edge mining equipment at customer sites. Your role plays a crucial part in supporting safe and efficient operations in the mining industry, which will contribute to customer satisfaction and operational excellence. In this position, you will report to Field Services Supervisor.
This position is mainly located in Mesa, AZ, however, it involves up to 85% travel to various mine sites.
Team you belong to
You will join a team of field service professionals passionate about delivering reliable solutions and exceptional customer service that strive to ensure optimal performance of Metso equipment in mining operations. We are currently developing skilled apprentices through structured training programs and hands-on field assignments.
We work closely with internal stakeholders, such as technical trainers and service managers, and external stakeholders like customers and site supervisors. Our team culture is all about safety, collaboration, and continuous learning. The members in our team are located in various regions across North America.
What you’ll do
- Participate in comprehensive training through in-class, on-site, and virtual sessions.
- Assist with equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks.
- Gain practical mechanical experience with Metso equipment.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Support staging components, setting up tooling, and installing machine parts.
- Collaborate with team members and customers to deliver high-quality service.
- Learn operational principles and reliability standards for mining equipment.
- Travel extensively to customer sites for hands-on field experience.
Who you are
- Second-year student in a trade school program and at least 18 years old.
- Safety-oriented and committed to following safety protocols.
- Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with mechanical tools.
- Experience with machinery, welding, or mechanics is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to dynamic work environments.
- Nice-to-have: Previous exposure to mining or heavy industrial equipment.
