What you’ll do:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and deliver a forward-thinking engineering strategy that aligns with our vision and goals. Support the team in identifying and pursuing new opportunities for innovation, product development, and market expansion within the BMH sector.
  • Engineering Oversight: Supervise and direct all engineering activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Provide guidance on the design and development of structural and mechanical systems for bulk material handling equipment.
  • R&D Leadership: Champion research and development initiatives, promoting the creation of new products and technologies. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions from concept to market.
  • Aftermarket Innovation: Oversee the engineering of upgrades, modifications, and repairs for existing equipment, enhancing performance and extending service life. Support Engineer-to-Order (ETO) projects that meet the specific needs of our customers.
  • Field Service Standards: Provide high-level engineering support during equipment breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. Collaborate with the Field Service Team for swift and effective on-the-ground support.
  • Global Collaboration: Support a global team of engineers, establishing a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Technical Expertise & Mentorship: Serve as the key technical authority, providing advanced guidance on complex engineering challenges. Mentor and develop junior engineers, cultivating a pipeline of future leaders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing processes, methodologies, and tools to increase efficiency, innovation, and quality.

 

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering, with a significant focus on bulk material handling equipment in the mining industry. Previous leadership experience is essential.
  • Extensive expertise in CAD software (such as AutoCAD and Inventor) and a deep understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven history of developing and resolving equipment breakdowns in a time-sensitive setting, with the ability to diagnose and solve complex mechanical issues quickly.
  • Experience leading engineering teams in a global environment, with the ability to navigate and manage cross-cultural and regional differences effectively.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with a progressive approach to overcoming engineering challenges.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders. Proficiency in English is required; additional languages, such as Spanish, are an added benefit.
