Introduction to the Role

The Training Support Specialist provides essential coordination, logistical support, and training development expertise across Field Services, Repairs, and Customer teams. This role ensures training events run smoothly, materials are prepared and distributed, and systems accurately reflect learning progress. 

 

A key part of the role includes developing and maintaining operational and safety training packages in collaboration with key stakeholders, ensuring all content meets local safety standards, regulatory obligations, and legislative requirements. 

 

Working closely with the APA Training Manager, this role supports both internal and external training delivery and contributes to the success of certification, competence development, and compliance initiatives. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

Training Package Development & Compliance 

  • Develop, update, and maintain training packages for operational, technical, and safety training. 
  • Ensure all training content aligns with local safety regulations, legislative requirements, and organisational standards. 
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, HSE teams, and operational leaders to validate training materials. 
  • Maintain governance and version control of training documents, assessments, and records. 
  • Support continuous improvement of training programs based on feedback, audit outcomes, and regulatory changes. 

Training & Event Coordination 

  • Organise catering for training sessions. 
  • Prepare and maintain training rooms and facilities. 
  • Coordinate training materials provided by Metso Academy. 
  • Maintain shared facility calendar and notify Bayswater team of upcoming events. 
  • Manage customer training packs (Metso promotional items) and attendance certificates. 
  • Order supplies via COS dashboard. 

Certification Support 

  • Send recognition emails and distribute certification packs (polo shirts, drink bottles, cooler bags, framed certificates, vouchers). 
  • Update certification tracking spreadsheets and communicate progress to relevant stakeholders. 
  • Add training registrations to Learning Point. 
  • Support OEM Competence Map for REP and FS. 
  • Support onboarding of new starters. 
  • Update training matrices. 
  • Maintain Training inbox. 
  • Support Repairs certification processes. 
  • Add certified technicians to the Certified Channel. 
  • Support Global Trainers and MA Technicians visiting APA 

Customer Training Logistics 

  • Save training materials to USBs 
  • Support APA and Global trainers. 
  • Provide mobilisation coordination for MA Trainers to customer site. 
  • Support with Salesforce opportunities reviewing Training Dashboard. 
  • Liaise with Sales Manager and customers for training proposals, preparation and delivery. 
  • Assist Sales Account Managers with quotes and booking training rooms. 
  • Support Aggregates Training, as required. 
  • Perform Work in Progress reviews. 
  • Review Training Feedback Portal and provide feedback to trainer 

Training Tools & Resources 

  • Manage VR headsets and liaise with Academy contacts. 
  • Maintain training aids and register. 
  • Support Train-the-Trainer (TTT) initiatives and planning for Metso Academy Training participants. 

Skills 

  • Develop structured operational, technical, and safety training packages aligned with legislation. 
  • Apply strong compliance awareness across regulatory, safety, and governance requirements. 
  • Demonstrate excellent organisation skills to manage schedules, logistics, materials, and multiple training events. 
  • Coordinate effectively with trainers, sales teams, customers, and technical stakeholders. 
  • Communicate clearly and professionally across diverse audiences. 
  • Maintain a customer‑focused approach when supporting training proposals and delivery. 
  • Use learning systems and administrative tools confidently, maintaining accurate records and training data. 
  • Solve problems proactively and adapt to fast‑moving environments and changing training needs. 
  • Work collaboratively, building trust and supporting new starters, visiting trainers, and team members. 

Experience: 

  • 3+ years’ relevant experience in similar role 

 

Qualifications 

  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122)
