Introduction and Team you will belong to
Technical Support – Grinding, Bulk and Pyro, Stirred Milling is responsible for providing technical support to our customers and internal stakeholders for the Stirred Milling Product Lines in the Asia Pacific Market Area. This is inclusive of HIG Mills. VTM’s, SMD’s, Tower Mills etc.
This will include ongoing site presence for diagnostic investigations, trouble shooting, analytical assessment and operational review of the Stirred Milling Product Lines.
The role encompasses support for Sales Account Management, Quote and Order Management and Customer Technical Support, understanding the customer’s needs and help create customer success, through scope definition and opportunity conversion.
Please be aware that the travel requirements for this position can be at times upwards of 50%.

The Role
- Provide technical support for opportunities within the Asia Pacific Region.
- Participate in site based regular visits, with the intention of providing product based technical support. Work closely with the Technical Sales Support Team to define a total understanding of the customer’s needs and develop further opportunities for the Stirred Milling business.
- Provide Technical based Site Visit reports
- Participate in performance of process and mechanical audits using specific test procedures and providing clear, concise and accurate reporting
- Participate in the investigation of field problems, initiate reports, and work with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure corrective action has been taken
- Keeps abreast of new developments in industry by reviewing current technical literature, seminars, trade shows, technical associations, etc.
- Develop technical scopes of offer or part selection for the Technical Sales Support Team.
- Encourage customers to avail themselves of our service capability to develop funded regular programmed field inspections of our equipment.
- Demonstrate a cooperative team approach and collaboration within the GBPS team. Work effectively with other teams and departments.
- Develop a thorough working knowledge of Products and techniques associated with product support activities.
- Provide feedback to all stakeholders on opportunities of the appointed site and report regularly on progress of these opportunities.
- Assist Sales Department and Proposals in equipment selection and sizing, technical clarifications, and technical clarification meetings.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
Essential
- A mechanical engineering Degree / trade qualification from college or technical school with five years related experience in mechanical environment working on Stirred Milling Equipment.
- Proven ability to apply technical principles and scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Intermediate computer literacy with various types of office-based software skills.
- Must have current motor vehicle license and passport.
- Must be able to travel both domestic and overseas.
- Must be able to pass random medical and drug tests.
- Ability to work in and make a positive and professional contribution to a team environment.
- Well-developed presentation skills, oral and written communication skills with good negotiation ability.
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to identify, understand and interpret customer needs and provide timely solutions utilising the available technical and market support resources.
- Ability to build and nurture strong customer relationships, including at senior levels, and manage relationships with both customers and consultants to maximise business opportunities.
- Ability to develop sound business strategies to achieve objectives and company goals.
