We are seeking an experienced Minerals Processing professional to join our Technical Sales Support team specialising in Mill Lining.
Only those with full working right in Australia need apply and we note due to the operational requirements of the role candidates are advised that a high level of travel (upwards of 60%) is anticipated to be successful in this position.

The Role
Acting as the mill lining expert in our region; the successful candidate will work with our sales and product development teams to define and deliver technical sales solutions for our clients, with responsibility for;
- Leading sales activities for mill lining technologies in the Asia Pacific region with a focus on assisting our customers achieve their operational goals.
- Providing technical advice about the suitability of processing equipment and technologies for our client’s purposes.
- Ensures timely progress of the sales case from lead to quotation/proposal and negotiations.
- Reviewing operational data and identifying opportunities to improve comminution performance with mill lining or other processing technology solutions.
- Direct customer link for remote and on-site technical support including; condition monitoring inspections, analysis and reporting, stock management, installation support, and troubleshooting, while acting as the technical interlinkage between Market Area (MA) and Business Line (BL).
- Complex proposal development from data collection through to concept design, detailed proposal creation and delivery with customer presentations.
- Ensures profitability of the sales cases and the BA in line with pricing policies.
- Use of customer relationship management (CRM) tools to facilitate BA forecast and sales funnel/case generation together with the sales team for defined geographical region/customer allocation.
- Analysing the market, our competition and industry best practices.
- Works closely with the tier 2 Product Support teams to deploy new product information, best practices, sales trainings and technology specific value argumentation.
- Supporting Warranty process and escalate product quality issues to Tier 2 Product Support teams.
- Supporting and monitoring sales cases from order through to delivery while directing the supply chain function’s alignment with customer and regional demands.
- Ensure that Site Account Managers have adequate training and support to determine opportunities and sell their products.
- Ensuring fulfillment of all QEHS rules and regulations of Metso and customers.
The successful candidate will:
- Be motivated, driven and have the ability to lead themselves.
- Hold tertiary qualifications in Metallurgical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical disciplines with 5+ years’ experience in minerals processing.
- Have previous exposure to operation of minerals processing concentrators including comminution circuits.
- Display a continuous improvement mindset, actively challenging the status quo.
- Be able to develop strong and productive working relationships with our customer’s process operation teams.
- CRM systems experience.
- Have strong commercial acumen with a customer-oriented outlook.
- Show a high level of communication and customer service skills.
- Have a strong focus on safety, built on transparent and open communication with the ability to execute high-quality risk observations, hazard reports and implement proactive safety initiatives.
- Have the ability to travel as required by Motor Vehicle or Commercial or Charter Flights.
- Hold a current Australian driver’s licence.
