Introduction
We are seeking a Senior Project Procurement Specialist to join our global procurement team.
We are seeking a proactive Senior Project Procurement Specialist who consistently demonstrates initiative, anticipates project needs, and takes decisive action to drive results. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments, identifies opportunities for improvement, and collaborates effectively to implement solutions. The role focuses on end-to-end procurement for capital projects in the Minerals Business Area. The Senior Project Procurement Specialist supports business growth by developing a competitive, high-quality supplier base.
This position is ideally based from our West Perth office and will report to the Director, Procurement.
What you’ll do
• Strategic sourcing / identification of suppliers to meet project requirements
• Supplier negotiation and evaluation to achieve cost savings, improved payment terms, lead times
• Timely and accurate creation of purchase orders in SAP, including purchase order variation management
• Drive compliance to procurement process with key stakeholders through developing strong, positive relationships (Sales, Project Delivery, Engineering)
• Negotiate commercial terms and conditions including liquidate damages
• Manage open-order book to ensure accurate order forecast delivery dates and good housekeeping
• Expediting of orders to ensure on time arrival (OTA) for assigned projects
• Manage ad-hoc invoicing, goods receipting and purchase order queries
• Pro-active monitoring and reporting against Procurement KPI’s e.g. On-Time Arrival, Savings, Payments Terms
• Identifying, recording and implementing cost saving opportunities
• Monitor and drive supplier performance
• Actively participate and collaborate with wider procurement and logistics team
• Work closely with project delivery, engineering, sales and Global sourcing and procurement teams, and more
Who you are
• Strong communication skills (English-speaking), both written and verbal
• Understanding of procurement processes, including order creation, supplier management, and contract negotiation
• Time management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Project coordination: Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing procurement activities to support project and product requirements
• Attention to detail: High level of accuracy in creating and tracking purchase orders and monitoring supplier performance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Desirable
• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• SAP Experience (MM Module)
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
• Experience in construction /heavy equipment industry preferred.
• Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to negotiate terms and contracts with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
• Global Procurement Experience: Experience working in a global procurement environment, understanding international supply chains and market conditions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
