At Metso, we’re focused on building a workplace where people feel trusted, supported, and empowered to thrive. We are currently looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our collaborative HR team and play a key role in shaping our people experience across Australia.
Reporting to the Vice President, HR Asia Pacific, this position partners closely with senior leaders to deliver strategic and operational HR initiatives that drive engagement, inclusion and performance in both our office and manufacturing environments.
 
What you'll do:
As our HR Business Partner, you will deliver end‑to‑end people support across the employee life cycle, helping leaders and teams perform at their best. In this role, you will:
  • Provide strategic and operational HR support across multiple Australian sites.
  • Partner with managers on employee relations matters, including grievances and disciplinary processes.
  • Develop, update and maintain HR policies, procedures and initiatives that support business goals.
  • Participate in People & Culture projects that enhance the employee experience.
  • Support onboarding, compliance checks, inductions and off‑boarding activities.
  • Coach employees and managers through the annual performance and development cycle.
  • Maintain HR records and deliver accurate HR and labour reporting.
  • Promote continuous improvement by ensuring best‑practice systems and processes are in place.

 

What you'll bring:
You’re an experienced and trusted HR professional who enjoys building strong relationships, solving problems, and influencing positive change. You bring a balance of strategic thinking and hands‑on capability, and you thrive in a dynamic, multi‑site environment.
 
You will also bring:
  • Qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience as a HR Business Partner or HR Manager, ideally in manufacturing or multi‑site operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, Fair Work legislation and industrial relations frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • A proactive, organised approach and the ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel nationally when required.
