We are seeking an experienced Directors of Sales to lead our sales strategy and drive sustainable, profitable growth while delivering exceptional value to our customers. This role will oversee the Southwest WA region.
The role
As Director – Sales, you will provide senior sales and commercial leadership across the region. You will lead a high‑performing sales organisation, oversee funnel and order performance, and work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver strong customer outcomes and long‑term value for Metso.
This role plays a critical part in shaping strategy, strengthening customer relationships, and embedding a culture of commercial excellence and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Set and lead the sub‑regional sales strategy to achieve sustainable and profitable growth
- Lead, develop and inspire a high‑performing sales team
- Own overall sales performance against agreed performance metrics
- Ensure sales excellence across the team in areas such as funnel management and account management
- Build and maintain senior‑level customer relationships
- Drive a aftermarket‑led growth model and actively contribute to capital business opportunities
- Align cross‑functional teams to deliver outstanding customer value
- Lead complex sales negotiations and partner with Commercial and Legal teams to manage risk and margin erosion
- Foster a culture of safety, compliance and continuous improvement
- Lead CRM adoption to enable accurate forecasting, pipeline visibility and seamless customer engagement
About you
You are a strategic and commercially astute sales leader with strong analytical capability and the ability to influence at senior levels. You bring a balance of strategic thinking and hands‑on leadership, with a proven track record in complex, technical sales environments.
You will also bring:
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with sound judgement
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in sales and/or engineering roles, with at least 5 years in senior management or supervision
- Tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing or Engineering (professional management courses highly regarded)
- Proven ability to define and execute regional sales strategies
- Experience translating strategic objectives into actionable sales plans
- Strong commercial acumen, including understanding of P&L, budgets and gross margins
- Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills
- Advanced skills in forecasting, selling and stakeholder management
- High level of accountability and resilience in a high‑pressure environment
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% of the time
