Director – Front End Sales & Integrated Solutions

Mining | Australia, New Zealand & Papua New Guinea

We’re seeking a high‑ambition, high‑impact leader to step into a rare role combining Territory Sales leadership with ownership of test work, proposals and integrated solutions across the Asia‑Pacific mining market. This role suits a proven performer who takes ownership, sets the standard, and holds teams to account while staying deeply connected to customers.


What you’ll lead

Your role is to ensure territory sales, test work and proposals operate as one integrated system—aligning early technical insight with commercial strategy to deliver the best outcomes for our customers. Working closely with the Technology Management team—our locally based product experts across the Minerals and Metals flowsheet—you’ll help deliver integrated, life‑cycle‑focused solutions that position Metso as the partner of choice.

 

You’ll lead highly skilled engineers, metallurgists and commercial specialists who act as Metso’s customer interface—working closely with customers, account managers, engineering houses and product teams to shape and convert opportunities from their earliest stage.


Key responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Front-End Sales (FES) representatives within a defined territory
  • Own critical customer relationships across miners, EPC/EPCM and partners
  • Drive proactive sales and lead generation, introducing new offerings and growing market share
  • Negotiate commercial terms and close high‑value opportunities
  • Lead Integrated Solutions, including proposal managers and the Test Work Supervisor
  • Position test work as the earliest and most influential stage of customer engagement
  • Align test work, proposals and sales to shape opportunities early and improve win rate
  • Own proposal prioritisation, quality, speed and resource allocation
  • Collaborate closely with Business Lines and Aftermarket on integrated, life‑cycle offerings Spend approx. 30% of your time customer‑facing across mine sites, engineering houses and customer offices

Who you are

  • A people‑first leader with the backbone to drive accountability
  • Technically and commercially credible—you can hold your own in any room
  • Background in Metallurgy, Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering preferred
  • Proven business development and people leadership experience
  • Energised by early‑stage customer engagement and shaping wins from the start
  • Comfortable operating across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea
  • Organised, decisive, and driven by outcomes—not titles
