Senior Officer, HSE
Introduction:
The person will be responsible and accountable for ensuring full compliance with the Company's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, standards, procedures, and statutory requirements. The role involves driving the proactive safety culture across the organization by implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving HSE management systems and practices.
The individual will lead efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace risks, ensure effective implementation of safety programs, conduct regular inspections and audits, and promote employee awareness through training and engagement initiatives. Additionally, the role will oversee compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, investigate incidents and near misses, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and monitor their effectiveness.
The position holder will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure that all operational activities are conducted in a safe, environmentally responsible, and sustainable manner. Furthermore, the individual will establish HSE performance indicators, track progress against objectives, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure that organizational HSE objectives are achieved and aligned with the Company's overall strategic goals and commitment to operational excellence.

You will work closely with internal & external stakeholders, such as Production, Plant Engineering, Contractors, Government Authorities etc. The members in our team are in Ahmedabad & Vadodara.
What you’ll do
- Assist HSE Head to implement and administer HSE goals and objective of organization.
- Plant Safety Inspection, reporting of unsafe conditions / act, communicating it to respective users for its action implementation and follow up.
- Timely reporting, tracking & closure of unsafe acts/unsafe conditions and safety conversation on Company HSE tool.
- Imparting HSE related training and to organize awareness session.
- Assist in Implementing work Permit procedure & its audit, effective Lock-out Tag-out Procedures, Confines Space Entry Procedure.
- Assist in Implementation of Emergency Plan actions and organize regular Mock Drills towards continual improvement.
- Conducting mock drills, trainings for employees/stakeholders & customers
- Maintaining & retaining HSE documentation & records.
- Testing and Certification of Pressure vessels, pressure plants, lifting tools and tackles, etc.
- Implement Contractor HSE Requirements effectively.
- Coordinate EHS Committee meeting and action planning.
- Display of safety signage at site in local language & to ensure the availability of First Aid Box at site at convenient locations
- Coordinate environmental sampling, monitoring and analysis as per GPCB permission.
- Waste Management execution – solid waste as well as hazardous waste. i.e. Collection, Segregation, Storage, Labelling, Transport & Disposal by XGN manifest.
- Must be well versed with STP / ETP operation.
- Must be well versed with environmental legislation, rules liaison with Govt. agencies.
- Testing, operation & maintenance of all fire detection and protection systems.
- Inspection, Testing & Operation of fire detection and protection system.
- Impart fire training & perform fire mock drill.
Who you are
- Diploma or Degree Engineering / M.Sc.
- Post Diploma in Industrial Safety from State Labour Institute.
- Must have Environmental Qualification.
- Must have 6-8 years of experience in HSE Onsite operational activities.
- Good Communication Skills.
- Good presentation skills
- Drives solutions over problems
- Well versed with ISO Systems & Legal Compliance
