Metso is seeking a dedicated Senior Manger - Quality to support and advance Product Quality Management (PQM) team and reporting within our Vadodara, India office. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and improving the team as well as how we capture, analyze, report, and communicate Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) data across GBPS. Your contributions will directly influence decision‑making, drive continuous improvement, and support our commitment to delivering the highest-quality products and services to our customers.

This role will report to the Director of Reliability Engineering and Product Quality of SVS-GBPS.

Summary

The Senior Manger - Quality  will ensure that all welded, machined, coated, and assembled components used within SVS-GBPS BL meet required technical specifications, safety standards, and manufacturing quality criteria. This department performs detailed review of documents, supports nonconformance investigations, and verifies compliance with industry, regulatory, and certification requirements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build organizational capability by developing technical expertise, strengthening succession planning, and reinforcing a high‑performance quality culture across regions.
  • Define and execute the SVS‑GBPS quality strategy in alignment with Metso global quality objectives, customer requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Establish, govern, and report quality KPIs, including Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), defect trends, supplier performance, and systemic quality risks for the department.
  • Serve as the escalation authority for critical quality issues, customer-impacting nonconformances, and recurring problems within the PQM Team  
  • Lead structured root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (RCA/CAPA) for high‑risk or systemic quality issues, ensuring verification of effectiveness.
  • Ensure consistent application and global harmonization of quality standards, procedures, quality plans, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Services, and Warranty to proactively manage quality risks and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide clear, data‑driven quality insights and recommendations to SVS‑GBPS and executive leadership to support informed decision‑making.

Qualifications

  • Experience in SAP-based, quality or manufacturing environment reporting.
  • Familiarity with tracking systems or tools for monitoring quality issues.
  • Exposure to lean or continuous improvement methodologies.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s in one of the following areas Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering, or Quality Management.
  • 15-20 years of experience in inspections, manufacturing, production, or quality-related environment.
