Metso is seeking a dedicated Quality Coordinator to support and advance quality reporting within our Vadodara, India office.
In this role, you will play a key part in developing and improving how we capture, analyze, and communicate Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) data across GBPS.
Your contributions will directly influence decision‑making, drive continuous improvement, and support our commitment to delivering the highest-quality products and services to our customers.

In this role, you will support all areas of GBPS and help ensure alignment with Metso’s global quality standards and expectations. Your work will directly contribute to building a unified, high‑performing quality culture across the business line.
This role will report to the Director of Reliability Engineering and Product Quality of SVS-GBPS.
Summary
The Quality Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the organization’s Quality Management System by managing quality notifications, tracking open issues, coordinating cross‑functional follow‑ups, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting. This role provides critical data that supports decision-making and drives continuous improvement across operations, manufacturing, and engineering teams.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Quality Notifications Management
- Create and open Quality Notifications (QN) in SAP-S4.
- Validate information accuracy, including defect details, supporting evidence, and affected product information for each QN.
- Assign notifications to appropriate owners and ensure clear documentation of required actions.
Issue Tracking & Coordination
- Maintain an up-to-date tracker of all open quality issues, including age, priority, owner, and status.
- Follow up with internal stakeholders (engineering, product line, quality, etc.) to ensure timely closure of actions.
- Escalate overdue or high-risk issues in alignment with departmental procedures.
Time & Activity Logging
- Enter and maintain labor hours/time associated with quality investigations, rework, inspections engineering, or containment actions.
- Validate departmental entries to ensure completeness and accuracy prior to reporting
Closing Notifications
- Review completed QN’s for completeness and compliance with quality standards for reporting.
- Ensure all required documentation, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification steps are included.
- Close notifications in the system once all criteria are met.
Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports summarizing:
- Open/closed notifications
- Aged notifications
- Hours logged to quality activities
- Recurring issues or hotspots
- Any additional topics when added
- Distribute quality dashboards or scorecards to leadership and cross‑functional teams.
- Support the preparation of quality metrics for audits, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
- Experience in SAP-based, quality or manufacturing environment reporting.
- Familiarity with tracking systems or tools for monitoring quality issues.
- Exposure to lean or continuous improvement methodologies.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Computer Applications or Bachelor in Science, or a related field with atleast 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or quality-related environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, or Quality Management is a plus, but not required.
- Additional coursework or certifications in quality tools or systems (such as ISO 9001, Lean, Six Sigma, or auditing) are advantageous.
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or quality-related environment.
- Experience working with Quality Management Systems (QMS) or ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Plex, etc.) for notifications, non‑conformances, or corrective actions.
- Previous roles such as quality technician, production clerk, coordinator, or administrative support in a technical environment are beneficial.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- ERP/QMS Software: Knowledge of systems used for quality notifications, data entry, and reporting (SAP, Oracle, Plex, etc.).
- Data & Reporting Standards: Understanding of metrics such as defect rates, nonconformance categories, audit findings, and corrective action statuses.
- Data Entry Accuracy: Strong ability to open, update, and close quality notifications with precise and complete information.
- Advanced Excel & Analytics:
- Proficiency with advanced Excel functions including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX‑MATCH, conditional formatting, text functions, and multi‑criteria formulas.
- Ability to build dashboards, trend charts, and structured datasets for management reporting.
- Experience with data cleansing, data validation, and preparing datasets for analysis.
- Data Visualization: Ability to present data in a clear, meaningful way using charts, tables, heatmaps, and KPI summaries. Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is an advantage but not required.
- Time Tracking: Ability to accurately record labor hours, inspection time, investigation time, and rework hours.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify discrepancies, incomplete investigations, or missing documentation.
- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication for coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Organization & Prioritization: Strong skills in managing multiple open issues, deadlines, and follow‑up tasks.
- Collaboration: Works effectively with cross‑functional teams, ensuring alignment on issue ownership and action plans.
