Introduction:
The person will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the machining department which includes managing a team of operators and programmers, ensuring production schedules are met, maintaining rigorous quality standards, and fostering a safe, efficient working environment. The ideal candidate blends deep technical expertise in CNC machining with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

You will work closely with internal & external stakeholders, such as Production, Procurement, vendors. The members in our team are located in Ahmedabad & Vadodara.
What you’ll do
- Coordinate daily work assignments to ensure maximum machine utilization and on-time delivery.
- Identify bottlenecks in the production line and implement Lean manufacturing principles to improve cycle times.
- Manage tooling inventory, raw materials, and consumables to prevent production delays.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting for complex setups, G-code/M-code programming issues, and tooling selections.
- Conduct first-off inspections and periodic audits to ensure parts meet precise tolerances and blueprints.
- Lead a team of CNC operators as well as conventional machine operator and verify programmers, providing clear direction and performance feedback.
- Mentor junior staff on machine operation, safety protocols, and advanced machining techniques.
- Ensure all team members adhere to IMS & OHSAS/Safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized "5S" workspace.
- Oversee the PM schedules for all CNC machinery (Lathes, Drilling, VTLs, etc.) to minimize unscheduled downtime.
- Coordinate with external technicians for major repairs or machine installations.
Who you are
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on CNC machining and programming experience; and minimum 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Deep understanding of Fanuc, Siemens, or Haas controllers. Ability to read complex engineering drawings and GD&T symbols.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g. Mastercam, Solid CAM) and ERP/MRP systems for production tracking.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Experience with Large Scale Machining or specialized equipment like Vertical Turret Lathes (VTL) and hands on experience of high material grade cutting like above 60 HRC
- Proven track record of reducing operational costs or improving department efficiency by a measurable percentage
