Operative Purchasing Specialist, CNS CHN OM
We are seeking a Operative Purchasing Specialist to join our CNS Order Management CHN Team.
This position focus on optimizing the flow of goods, information, and services to meet company goals for efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
This role is critical to supporting our business operations and reports directly to the Head of CNS Order Management CHN.

You will be part of a diverse and collaborative team of professionals located across the globe. Our mission is to streamline delivery processes, meet service level agreements, and continuously improve customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase goods in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets
- Material master and purchasing data review and maintenance
- Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules
- Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications
- Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships and act as Metso supplier contact for selected suppliers
- Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes
- Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures
- Support BA Sourcing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations
- Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization
- Prepare reports and updates as and when required
- Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements
- Obtain required certificates and declarations from suppliers for Trade & Compliance purposes.
- Operative management responsibilities in absence of a team manager
- Miscellaneous projects to improve efficiency and increase savings & OTA
- Other elevated responsibilities in operative matters
Who You Are
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of experience in operational procurement or supply chain execution within industrial or service environments
• Strong experience managing purchase orders and material flow in fast paced, execution driven operations
• Analytical and data oriented, with the ability to translate information into actionable decisions
• Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines
• Strong communicator who engages effectively with cross functional stakeholders and suppliers
• Comfortable working independently in a high impact individual contributor role
• Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is preferred
• Fluent English is preferred
