We are seeking a Supplier Quality Development Engineer to support our supplier development activities within our team and supplier network in the Metso Aggregates Business Area. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills. 
  

 

This position requires traveling 30-50 days annually. The location for this position is Tampere 

 


What you’ll do   

 

  • Continuous development of supplier quality processes supporting sourcing, production, and engineering
  • Analyzes supplier capacity and capabilities to meet quality requirements specified in specifications, drawings, and contract files
  • Creating and executing supplier audits with audit follow-up according to the supplier development action plan and verifying impact  
  • Creating and maintaining Advanced Quality Plans (AQP), including technical reviews, control plans, process flow charts, etc.
  • Analyzing supplier performance and capabilities, identifying development opportunities, and driving development actions to improve supplier performance
  • Providing technical support, including quality and manufacturability support to engineering during new project development (NPD) and product updates 

 

 

Who you are  

 

  • Suitable educational background, e.g., B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering
  • Previous experience in development projects in the supplier network
  • Experience in machine building and the steel fabrication industry
  • Experience in Lean Six Sigma Tools successful implementation
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification is seen as an advantage
  • Self-driven and goal-oriented mindset
  • Proactive and positive attitude
  • Familiarity and experience with different development tools and methodologies
  • Professional Finnish and English language skills
