We are looking for a Senior Logistics Specialist to join our Aggregates Global Logistics team, GOM Central in Tampere, Finland.
As a Senior Logistics Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring seamless global logistics operations for Aggregates equipment deliveries. You will independently manage complex outbound and cross trade transportation arrangements, customer financing processes, and stakeholder collaboration while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across our global logistics network.
Team you will belong to
The team is responsible for the successful execution of customer orders and transportation of Aggregates equipment from our factories to customers worldwide. We collaborate closely with sales teams, customers, distributors, logistics service providers, factories, and financial institutions to ensure on-time deliveries and outstanding customer satisfaction.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a highly international environment with significant responsibility and visibility across Metso's global operations.
What you’ll do
- Logistics Execution & Customer Support
- Support quotation activities by providing freight estimates, transportation costs, landed prices, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Independently manage transportation bookings with global and local logistics service providers.
- Coordinate worldwide shipments, mostly oversized and out-of-gauge cargo.
- Track shipments and proactively manage delivery schedules and ETA communication.
- Prepare and manage transportation, export, customs, and financing documentation.
- Communicate professionally with customers and distributors through Salesforce Customer Correspondence tools.
- Financial & Commercial Activities
- Issue customer invoices
- Handle distributor financing matters and customer payment follow-up.
- Manage complex financing instruments, including Letters of Credit (L/Cs), bank guarantees, and related banking documentation.
- Ensure accurate monthly reporting and documentation compliance.
- Continuous Improvement & Expertise
- Act as a key user for logistics-related systems and applications when applicable
- Lead or participate in development projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure competitiveness and quality in logistics
- Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements in logistics and transportation processes.
- Train and support logistics colleagues and stakeholders in daily operations.
- Influence logistics partners and internal stakeholders to improve performance and customer experience.
Who you are
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in international logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
- Strong understanding of global transportation, export documentation, customs requirements, and international trade.
- Experience with customer financing instruments such as Letters of Credit and bank guarantees.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Customer-focused mindset and passion for delivering high-quality service.
- Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA, Transportation Management (TM), Salesforce, or similar tools is considered a strong advantage.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is beneficial.
