We are seeking QAQC Inspector to join our Repair Center team. Your role is responsible for ensuring that all welding, fabrication, repair, machining, fitting and painting activities are performed in compliance with relevant procedures, standards and OEM specifications. In this position, you will report to the Workshop Superintendent. This role will be based in Surabaya.
What You'll Do
- Enforce safety standards and ensure comply with Metso Modus Operandi, Metso Life-Saving Rules and standard procedures
- Perform comprehensive inspections on repaired and fabricated components in accordance to American Standards, Australian Standards and OEM specifications.
- Undertake comprehensive inspections of Metso equipment including but no limited to crusher components, screen assembly and parts, filter components, gearboxes, pumps during strip & assess, repair and assembly phases.
- Review and maintain welding procedures, welding procedure specifications (WPS) and procedure qualification records (PQR).
- Verify welder qualifications and ensure welders are performing within their certified scope.
- Monitor traceability of materials, consumables and welding records.
- Monitor welding processes, fit-ups, and fabrication works to ensure compliance with approved procedures and drawings.
- Perform weld quality assessments including defect identification, size, and acceptance/rejection based on code requirements.
- Perform final inspections on all repaired components and new builds.
- Review and maintain QAQC documentation, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCR) and corrective action records.
- Collate and compile Inspection Release Forms (IRF’s) and Manufacturing Data Report (MDR’s) and submit to relevant parties for review and approval.
- Liase with Repairs Coordinators to review and finalise record sheets, inspection test plan (ITP) and inspection documents.
- Work alongside contractors when 3rd party testing/inspection taken place.
- Record, analyse and inform revelent personnel of production quality assurance.
- Support in root cause investigation and analysis and corrective action related to quality issues.
- Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement.
Who You Are
- Minimum trade qualification with 5+ years experience in QAQC within repair and/or manufacture of mining or heavy fabrication industry.
- Strong understanding and experience in standards including but not limited to AWS D1.1 and Australian Standard AS1554.
- Have valid internationally recognized welding inspector certification (AWS CWI, CSWIP 3.1/3.2.1, or equivalent) is a must.
- Certified in NDT inspections (MT, PT and UT).
- Competence in use of precision measurement tools.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, symbols, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Have hands-on welding/fabrication experience is highly preferred.
- Strong reporting and documentation skills as well as communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with high accuracy.
- High commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Current Indonesian Driver’s lincese (SIM A).
