Introduction
We are seeking a Planning Superintendent to join our Repair team at the Surabaya Service Centre. The role is to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of repair activities from job initiation through completion. It is responsible for ensuring repairs are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining strong collaboration between workshop production, suppliers, and customers.
In this position, you will report to the Service Center Manager. This role will be based in Surabaya.
What You'll Do
- Promote and enforce strong safety culture by ensuring full compliance with Metso Modus Operandi, Metso Life-Saving Rules and standard procedures
- Lead and supervise a team of Repairs Coordinators, Production Planner, Procurement Specialist and Storepersons in their everyday duties, provide direction, support and guidance to team members
- Oversee planning, scheduling and progress tracking of jobs to ensure timely completion and within budget
- Set priority of jobs based on operational urgency, customer requirements and available resources
- Manage the workload distribution among Repairs Coordinators to balance job demands
- Ensure accurate preparation of work pack for internal workshop and external vendors
- Develop cost estimates and define detailed scopes of work
- Oversee vendor performance, development and maintain strong reliationship to ensure quality, timely, cost-effective and reliability of service
- Oversee the procurement process, ensuring that all materials, tools, and consumables required for projects are sourced and acquired on time
- Oversee the store operations, ensuring that tools, equipment, and spare parts are properly stored, organised, and easily accessible for the team
- Ensure that inventory levels are maintained, and reordering processes are executed when stock levels reach minimum thresholds
- Maintain continual communication and relationship with customers both internal and external, through progress updates and meetings
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints regarding repairs, escalating issues as necessary
- Answer technical queries from the workshops and vendors and advise on repair methods
- Complete three-monthly forecasting of invoicing and order intake
- Review the profit margin achieved for each job on monthly basis, develop report and action items
Who You Are
Essential
- Diploma/Bachelor degree in Engineering with 8 years experience in repair of mining or heavy industry equipment
- At least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Experience in OEM service or maintenance operations
- Strong knowledge of project management, repair processes, planning and scheduling, procurement, and inventory management
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety procedures, operating and maintenance instructions and OEM technical manuals
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure
- Proficiency in English
- Procifiency in MS Office suite
Desirable
- Experience with Metso products such as crusher, screen, griding mill, pump, and filter
- Lean / 5S continuous improvement practices and certification
- Experience with QAQC audits
- Experience using SAP ERP systems
