We are currently seeking 2 (two) Apprentice Mechanical Fitter/Machinist for the Surabaya Service Center to assist and perform fitting and machining maintenance tasks, service activities relating to Metso equipment components, complete machines and spare parts.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Develop skills to interpret engineering drawings.
- Develop skills to carry out work on manual lathes and milling machines.
- Develop skills to machine parts according to drawing specifications and tolerance.
- Develop skills to measure parts accurately and regularly check parts to be within tolerance.
- Accurate record keeping of parts machined and material used.
- Physical housekeeping in Machining area.
- Machine preventative maintenance tasks.
- Repairs as required on all workshop machinery.
- Troubleshooting workshop machinery as required with and without vendor assistance if available.
- Assist other Tradesmen to undertake strip and assess and then rebuild of Metso fixed plant equipment including, but not limited to, crushers, crusher components, screens and screen parts, mill grinding components, filter components, pumps and gearboxes.
- Assist in other areas of workshop if required.
- Move from one task to another as required to meet production schedules.
- Records, analyses and informs relevant personnel of production quality assurance.
- Informs of status and disposition of customer requirements specific to job progress and status.
- Receive feedback, training and mentoring from fellow tradesmen.
- Speaking up to improve safety. Using the Company’s safety tools to assist in controlling the hazards, which apply to each task the Employee undertakes.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Completion of Diploma D3 / technical high school in the field of mechanical preferred
- You will have a keen interest in working in a mechanical environment
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Aptitude for Math and competent computer skills
- An enthusiastic approach to each new challenge
- Enjoy working in a technical environment
- Good hand-eye coordination
- A strong ‘team player’ with good communication skills
- A strong commitment to both personal safety and the safety of others around them
- Current Driver’s License (preferable)
