Introduction:

 

We are looking for a Technical Sales Manager – Slurry Handling Equipment to drive growth across our Slurry Handling Equipment portfolio within an assigned territory. This role combines technical expertise with strong commercial leadership, supporting customers directly while working with third party distributors to expand market presence.

 

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in technical sales within mining, aggregates, or oil & gas, and will be comfortable engaging customers on both application level challenges and commercial value.

 

This position will be located in Sudbury. This position does entail about 50% - 60% travel. 


What you’ll do:

 

  • Lead Sales & Business Growth
    Drive sales for slurry pumps, cyclones, parts, hoses, and valves within your territory, developing new opportunities and strengthening existing customer relationships.
  • Manage Key Accounts & Channels
    Sell directly to end users and collaborate closely with distributor partners to grow revenue and market share.
  • Achieve Sales Targets
    Partner with Site Account Managers and distributors to meet or exceed sales objectives. Track opportunities, customer activity, and performance using CRM tools.
  • Dealer & Channel Development
    Develop and execute dealer management plans, including sales targets, training initiatives, and performance reviews, to optimize territory coverage.
  • Customer Engagement & Technical Support
    Act as a trusted technical and commercial advisor, ensuring Metso’s solutions are well aligned with customer applications and performance needs.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration
    Work closely with internal teams including service, applications, sales support, and marketing to deliver customer value and support broader growth initiatives.

 

Who you are:

 

  • Proven experience in technical sales, preferably within slurry handling, pumps, or process equipment
  • Strong understanding of mining, aggregates, and/or oil & gas operations
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to engage at all organizational levels
  • Self motivated, results driven, and comfortable working independently in the field
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50–70%, including to remote sites
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)
