Introduction
We are seeking a Sales Pumps Manager to join our Pumps Sales – South America. You will be responsible for implementing the growth strategy in Brazil. You must plan and execute the action plans that are defined to meet the assigned objectives. You articulate commercial, administrative, financial, safety, and sales aspects of the Business Unit, with the aim of ensuring sustained growth. Your role plays a crucial part in contributing to our business.
In this position, you will report to Director, Pumps Sales South America.
This position is mainly located in Sorocaba, and it involves up to 30% of travel.
Team you belong to
You will join a team of specialists in advanced mineral technologies dedicated to deliver high-performance solutions for slurry handling applications across key mining market. We are currently working on strategic developments in Chile, Peru and Brazil; including Capital Projects, Aftermarket, Hydrocyclones, Valves and Hoses.
We work closely with internal/external stakeholders, including regional sales teams, proposals, engineering and product development units, supply chain partners, key mining operators and strategic industry collaborators, to ensure seamless execution and sustained market impact.

What you’ll do
- Implement the growth strategy for Pumps, Hydrocyclones, Valves, and Hoses (hereinafter Pump Portfolio), aiming to meet short-term and long-term growth targets.
- Create a pipeline of opportunities and update them continuously in Sales Force™.
- Implement action plans that allow for timely detection and development of opportunities.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual Order (OR) forecasts.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual Sales (NS) forecasts.
- Prepare Inventory forecasts that allow for an adequate level and minimize OSMI and Scrap.
- Conduct thorough tracking of Orders received and to be received monthly.
- Develop timely action plans in response to any deviations in OR, NS, Inventory, and Backlog levels.
- Generate action plans that allow decrease in On-Time Delivery (OTD) from the plants for Users in the region.
- Define and implement pricing and profit margin strategies.
- Create and implement Marketing, Communication, and Branding actions.
- Relevant participation in meetings with the Minerals / SVS team and with all Metso entities to strengthen the presence of the Pump Portfolio in Greenfield, Brownfield, and After-Market projects, Contracts, and Service Management.
- Strength connection with Site Account Managers, to influence +AAA Accounts.
- People development.
- Monitor competitor activity, generating actions to counteract their effectiveness.
- Carry out a proper and planned market penetration.
- Monitor customer satisfaction regarding the Business Unit.
- Conduct regular reviews of management systems to achieve continuous improvement.
- Increase the number of MD pumps at Mill Discharge and Process applications.
Who you are
- Mechanical, Hydraulic, Metallurgical, Industrial Engineer or similar.
- 5 years of relevant experience in Mining Plant Equipment Technologies.
- Relevant experience in mining, dealing with End Users: Maintenance, Operations, Reliability, Engineering, HSEC, etc.
- Knowledge in pump selection and application (and preferably hydrocyclones).
- Proven knowledge of the Metso Pump Portfolio.
- International exposure in presentations and business case development.
- Adequate financial knowledge to understand local and global requirements and goals.
- Action and result oriented.
- Adequate knowledge of mining processes allows smooth communication with the Minerals and Services area.
- Good local and international networking.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Effective communication at all organizational levels.
- Excellent interpersonal relationships.
- Attention to detail when required, without losing the overall perspective of the business.
- Businessperson with ambition to build a career in a multinational company.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity.
- English and Spanish: Fluent spoken and written.
- Compatible Health with great geographical altitude and field visits.
