Introduction
We are looking for a Manager, Backlog and Exception Management Brazil to join our BEM Services Supply Chain (SVS SC) organization in SAM. In this role, you will lead the aftermarket supply chain agenda in Brazil, ensuring operational continuity, strategic alignment, and effective representation of the SVS SC organization within the market area. You will play a critical role in driving customer satisfaction, operational excellence, while supporting business growth and transformation initiatives.
You will report to the Director, Backlog and Exception Management SAM.
This role is based in Brazil, and requires approximately 20% of travel both domestical and internationally.

You will lead a team of talented metsonites and professionals focused on driving End-to-End supply chain performance and customer excellence. Our team plays a key role in the Metso Services Supply Chain strategy for the SAM MA, contributing to SVS business growth through the achievement of Net Sales Assurance (NSA), On Time Delivery (OTD), and customer experience targets, with a shared focus on driving high performance through the supply chain organization.
We collaborate closely with the SAM MA, Sales and Customer Service teams across the region, SVS SC organization in SAM and global stakeholders. What you’ll do
- Lead end-to-end Backlog & Exception Management (BEM) for the Brazil aftermarket business, ensuring timely resolution of critical supply and customer issues.
- Ensure operational continuity and customer satisfaction by proactively managing supply risks, escalations, business priorities, and recovery plans.
- Drive alignment between the Brazil aftermarket Supply Chain strategy and the broader SVS Supply Chain vision, priorities, and operating model.
- Represent SVS Supply Chain in Brazil executive forums, providing visibility of performance, risks, priorities, and required business decisions.
- Own Supply Chain performance and governance for Brazil, delivering against agreed KPIs and targets while driving sustainable improvements in backlog management, service levels, delivery performance, inventory management, NSA, and OTD.
- Lead Supply Chain transition and transformation initiatives, ensuring business continuity and successful implementation of the SVS SC operating model.
- Lead and develop the BEM Brazil organization, strengthening capabilities, accountability, collaboration, and a high-performance culture.
- Act as the primary escalation point for critical customer and business issues requiring cross-functional coordination and executive visibility.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience leading Supply Chain, Operations, Customer Service, or Backlog Management teams.
- Strong understanding of End-to-End Supply Chain processes, including planning, procurement, logistics, inventory management, and customer fulfillment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.
- Experience managing business performance through KPIs and governance routines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience leading transformation, change management, or digitalization initiatives.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English; Spanish is considered an advantage.
- Experience in mining, heavy industry, manufacturing, or aftermarket business environments is considered an advantage.
