Introduction
We are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Optimization Services team. You will be responsible for mineral processing advisory services, particularly in the area of comminution equipment, which involves plant auditing and model development of crushing and grinding circuits. Your role plays a crucial part in process optimization of the concentrator plant, which will contribute to the added value of optimization services to our end users.
This position is preferably located in Sorocaba, Brazil, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements at other locations such as Santiago or Lima.
This role may require 30-50% travel.
Team you belong to
You will join a team of mineral processing experts dedicated to solving our customers most advanced process challenges. We are currently working on projects across the globe from comminution through final thickening. The team resides within Metso’s Professional Services organization where your role will be crucial for developing and scaling our service capabilities.
In this position, you will report to the Director of Optimization Services in our Field and Expert Service product group.
We work closely with our end users as well as internal stakeholders such as equipment product groups and business lines within the services, minerals, and consumables organizations. Our team culture is all about delivering results.
The members of our team are located in Canada, United States, Mexico, Brazil, Finland, Austria, and Australia.
What you’ll do
- Coordinate, direct, and take part in mineral processing plant audits.
- Statistical data analysis, data reporting, troubleshooting, and technical problem solving.
- Modeling of processing plant circuits, specifically comminution circuits.
- Liaise with front end sales teams to develop business and win opportunities.
- Liaise with internal/external mineral processing laboratories.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to enable profitable growth for other Metso entities.
- Provide technical support for deliveries of Metso’s portfolio of digital solutions.
- Contribute to scaling our services portfolio and delivering value added solutions to our customers.
Who you are
- BSc in Mineral Processing or similar education, advanced degrees (MSc/PhD) preferred.
- Solid experience in mineral processing, process engineering, or metallurgy.
- Must have experience in comminution equipment product knowledge, analysis, and modeling.
- Must have experience using JK SimMet or Metso’s HSC software in comminution equipment modeling.
- Must speak fluent English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
- Experience working at mining company operating sites is preferred.
- As a collaborator, you are comfortable working across boundaries in a large organization.
- As a technical expert, you are a strong communicator, clearly and concisely discussing complex technical topics.
- In this senior role, you are comfortable working under pressure in demanding production environments.
