Introduction 

We are seeking a Sr Engineer, Planning to join our Global GBPS Project Management team. In this strategic role, you will lead the planning and coordination of complex capital projects and complex installed basis upgrades, ensuring the timely delivery of resources, materials, and services. Your expertise will directly impact on our business results and drive continuous improvement across our global operations.

You will report to the Manager, Project Management, SVS, GBPS.

This position is mainly located in Sorocaba and it involves up to 20% of travel.

 

Team you belong to

You will join a high-performing Project Management team responsible for profitability (P&L), on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, quality, and scope fulfillment. Our projects serve global clients in the Mining segment, and our team members are based in South America and Africa, collaborating closely with colleagues in NCA, EMEA, and APAC regions.

 

What you’ll do

- Lead the development and management of detailed schedules in MS Project or Primavera, based on project WBS.

- Take the lead on schedule updates, progress monitoring, and reporting of deviations, critical paths, and impacts.

- Simulate and implement schedule recovery scenarios (fast tracking, crashing).

- Mentor and support Project Managers and junior planners in reporting and presentation preparation.

- Integrate schedules with purchasing, logistics, and manufacturing milestones.

- Collaborate with supply chain and engineering teams to ensure realistic deadlines and resource allocation.

- Consolidate supplier schedules and manage critical path activities.

- Proactively identify and communicate risks and deviations to stakeholders.

- Manage the issuance of documents and deliverables to clients, in accordance with the contract and project requirements.

- Support portfolio management, including OTD, risk assessment, and resource allocation.

- Lead process improvement initiatives and contribute to strategic decision-making.

- Represent the planning function in meetings with senior leadership and key clients.

- Assist in developing project workload charts and resource allocation plans.

- Contribute to proposal development with baseline schedules.

 

Who You Are

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

- Extensive experience in planning and controlling large-scale capital projects and upgrades, preferably in a global environment.

- Advanced proficiency in scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera).

- Strong SAP experience (MM, PS, SD).

- PMP or equivalent formal project management education.

- Proven track record of leadership in project teams or technical mentoring.

- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

- Experience working with multicultural and geographically dispersed teams.

- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

- The ideal candidate is self-driven and able to work with minimal supervision.
