Introduction


We are seeking a Development Engineer to join our Screening team. You will be responsible for supporting the development of application and sizing technology for the selection and use of screens and feeders (both in algorithm and software). This role is central to the screening business line (SCB) requires the comprehensive understanding of different screening application to develop and validate the sizing logic as well as implementation to Metso flowsheet design and simulation calculation, including but not limited to mass balance, critical parameters calculation. used in the mining industry and aggregate industries. Your role plays a crucial part to contribute to our business. 
In this position, you will report to the Global Product and Application Development Manager.
This position is mainly located in Sorocaba, Brazil and it involves up to 15-20% travel (domestic/international).

 

Team you belong to


You will join the Global Mining Screens team dedicated to Research, Technology and Development (RTD). 
We are currently working on various global projects. We work closely with the entire Global Metso team as well as some reputable mining companies. 
Our team culture revolves around putting the customer at the center, having great ambition - always, doing what needs to be done - together, and being open and honest. 
Team members primarily are located in Brazil, Germany, India, China and Australia.


What you’ll do


•    Design, configure and deploy Screen sizing module into Metso’s HSC & Bruno system.
•    Supports SCB (Screen Business Line) application configurator and modulization development.
•    Aiding the screening product development by contribute to the development of functional specifications, control narratives, and design documentation.
•    Use application knowledge in mineral processing to support development for testing, continues product improvement on screening and feeder products.
•    Work with Regional application team and the lab manager to design screen testing plans as well as conduct and guide lab / field test as needed.
•    Participate in project planning and execution, coordinating with stakeholders across SCB, other BAs.
•    Attending conferences and presentations are expected when appropriate, good presentation and communication skill are highly desirable. 
•    Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality procedures


Who you are


Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics with process background or Mining Engineer.
Experience in designing or operate on mineral process equipment or plants, especially screens.
Previous experience in Mineral PFD, Mass balance and process simulation software is a PLUS
Previous experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interface) / SCADA platforms is a PLUS
Analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication skill
Ability to work alone and collaborate with colleagues globally.
Fluency in English is a must for global team collaboration.
Knowledge of safety standards and regulations applicable to the mining industry.
