Introduction
We are looking for a Foundry Operations Director to join our Sorocaba Foundry team in the Consumables business area. In this role, you will lead the foundry operation to deliver safe, reliable, cost-efficient, and high-quality wear parts and components that support Metso’s business and customers.
You will report to the VP, Foundry Operations, and the role location is Sorocaba, Brazil, with an onsite working model.
Team you will belong to
You will lead the Sorocaba Foundry team, which is responsible for manufacturing operations and the supply of wear parts and components. The team plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence across production, production engineering, planning, purchasing, quality assurance and quality control, safety, and sustainability.
The team collaborates closely with Sales, Sales, Operations and Inventory Planning (SIOP), Order Management, Procurement, and other key stakeholders to support business performance and customer needs.
Team members are based in Brazil.
What you’ll do
• Lead and develop the Sorocaba Foundry organization, fostering strong performance, capability development, and employee engagement.
• Define and execute the foundry strategy, identifying and delivering short-, medium-, and long-term improvement opportunities.
• Drive operational and financial performance through the development of manufacturing processes, production technologies, and operational capabilities.
• Improve safety, quality, cost efficiency, lead times, delivery reliability, and productivity across foundry operations.
• Ensure capacity and lead times are aligned with business requirements and customer demand.
• Develop a cost-efficient supplier network with the required quality and delivery capabilities in partnership with the global Procurement organization.
• Lead initiatives that support the zero-harm safety target and environmental sustainability objectives.
• Drive standardization and harmonization of processes and production systems across all production stages.
• Build strong collaboration with key internal stakeholders and oversee transparent investment planning and execution.
• Promote Lean and Six Sigma principles and continuous improvement across the operation.
What you’ll bring
• Proven leadership experience within manufacturing and/or supply chain operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, motivate, and support teams in achieving high levels of performance.
• Strong experience in strategy development and successful implementation.
• Business acumen with a customer-focused mindset and the ability to balance operational and commercial priorities.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience driving operational excellence, process improvement, and performance enhancement in manufacturing environments.
• Strong communication, decision-making, and leadership capabilities.
• Advanced to fluent English (mandatory).
