We are seeking a Supply Quality Engineer to join our Consumables Supply Chain China. You will be responsible for participating the supplier quality management process and to develop the supplier quality performance level: quality planning, quality control and quality improvement. Contributing through own work significantly on the high-quality material flow to Metso units. The assignment contains from different problem-solving situation, analysing processes, documenting the root causes and to following the agreed corrective actions. The job scope is working with suppliers used or to be used in the supply operation of Metso in China. Suppliers cover both material and service providers. Process scope is from supplier selection to receiving of the material.In this position, you will report to Supplier Quality Manger.

 

This position is mainly located to be agreed, CN.

What you’ll do

 

  1. Development of Supplier quality management
  2. Deploying supplier audit program and follow up outcomes
  3. Developing and updating supplier quality plans, including process flow, operation instruction, quality control methods during the key processes
  4. Developing the inspection plan of incoming material inspection flow and guarantee the suppliers implementing the correct inspection process
  5. Support the operative purchasing and procurement on analysing the non-conformities and claims relating the supplier management and achieving corrective actions internally and among suppliers
  6. Giving technical comments on product quality problems of suppliers
  7. Participate on agreed development and improvement projects and implement the agreed actions to achieve the better performance
  8. Participating in different groups and projects as supplier quality expert
  9. Other tasks assigned by manager

 

AUTHORITY

 

Authorized to manage, develop, define, and implement the quality, sustainability development in Consumables Supply Chain as directed and within guidelines as established by the direct management and Metso policies and procedures.

 

POSITION SPECIFICATION

Who you are

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge in foundry/casting & machining
  • More than 5 years’ experience from supplier quality management
  • Familiarity with heat treatment, NDE, testing etc.
  • Proficient in ISO 9001 and being familiar with quality tools.
  • working experience in heavy machinery manufacturing
  • project management practises
  • Assessor experience
  • Good knowledge level on quality management concepts and ability to apply them to practise
  • Ability to lead process and projects
  • Excellent commend of MS office and other IT tools.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English
  • Good negotiation and training skills
  • Understanding of manufacturing techniques
  • Product knowledge
