Introduction

We are currently seeking a Proposal Engineer with a combined expertise in quality proposal management, delivery time, and internal customer satisfaction, for the Separation BL Proposal Management in Minerals.

 

The role is preferably based in Chile, Peru, or Brazil, but other locations can be considered for the right candidate. 

 

The Proposal Engineer will be responsible for managing separation thickener proposal preparation in a global setup, and in collaboration with Sales and other internal stakeholders according to relevant proposal process and procedures.The person will be supporting and training market proposal managements and also participating to proposal process and tool developement.

 

What you'll do:

 

  • Manage and organize proposal-making activities, including internal coordination of information to/from all involved departments and persons
  • Develop and define the scope, value proposition and schedule/tasks for the proposal with key stakeholders (i.e.) sales, supply, and execution
  • Act as the point person between sales, supply and execution and develop, collect/collate all relevant information to prepare proposals.
  • Commit and deliver proposals per deadlines, and maintain correctness, quality and proper archiving of proposals
  • Manage customer RFQ material and clarifications
  • Support cost estimation and pricing
  • Facilitate risk assessments
  • Manage reviews and approvals
  • Lead/support subcontractor tendering. Participate in site visits and tendering meetings
  • Support Sales in presenting and negotiating the case
  • Participate in handovers to the delivery phase
  • Provide input for the continuous development of the function
  • Supporting the market area proposal management
  • Training the market area proposal management
  • Participating in proposal management development.


Who you are

 

  • Suitable academic background, e.g., Master’s / Bachelor’s degree or similar
  • Successful job experience in roles of proposal management, project management, and/or sales
  • Knowledge of typical business models, principles of solution sales, sales processes, large project management and cost estimation
  • Basic knowledge of minerals processing and understanding of the cause and effect of various design/process changes
  • Fluent in written and spoken Spanish and English. (Portuguese language is an advantage)
  • The Capability of internal networking, organizing cross-BL and cross-BU activities
  • Ability to interpret/appreciate client requirements/expectations.
  • Good organization and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work under tight timelines and business pressure
  • Sufficient knowledge of Metso Minerals Technology and Offering
