Introduction
 
We are looking for a Manager, Field Service to join our Field Services team in the South America market area. In this role, you will lead the commercial and technical development of Field Services in Argentina, driving business growth, service excellence, and customer value through Metso’s proprietary technologies and OEM service capabilities.
You will report to Director, Field Services, and the role location is San Juan, Argentina, with an onsite working model. The role includes national and international travel as well as visits to customer sites.

You will lead the Field Services team based in San Juan. The team is responsible for delivering specialized technical services that support the reliability, integrity, operational continuity, and performance optimization of customer assets. The team plays an important role in supporting customers through Metso’s Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technologies and service expertise.
The team works closely with customers, commercial teams across the South America market area, Professional Services, Metso Training Academy, and OEM business lines to deliver high-quality service solutions and long-term customer value.
 
What you'll do
 
  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy for Field and Expert Services, supporting long-term business growth and customer success.
  • Lead commercial opportunities with customers and collaborate with commercial teams, Professional Services, and other internal stakeholders to expand service offerings.
  • Manage the full Field Services Argentina budget and Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility, ensuring achievement of sales, profitability, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Lead and develop a highly specialized technical team while coordinating activities across multiple locations.
  • Promote compliance with Quality, Environment, Health and Safety (QEHS) policies, as well as Metso’s values, inclusion practices, and people-focused culture.
  • Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and technology adoption to strengthen service execution and customer outcomes.
  • Represent Metso at mining industry events, conferences, seminars, webinars, and professional platforms.
  • Build partnerships with educational institutions, technology organizations, and strategic technology providers to support talent development, knowledge transfer, and service quality.
 
What you'll bring
 
  • Deep experience leading service, maintenance, engineering, or related operations within the mining industry, including executive-level leadership responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to drive business development and commercial growth in specialized mining services.
  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to guide highly specialized technical teams and foster collaboration across local and global organizations.
  • Advanced technical knowledge in at least two of the following areas: mining plant maintenance, process control and instrumentation strategies, mineral processing and copper refining, or data architecture, infrastructure, and data science platforms.
  • Broad understanding of OEM equipment and technologies, ideally within environments supporting mining operations.
  • Strong focus on operational performance, profitability, cost management, execution excellence, and delivery of customer value.
  • University degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline such as Mechanical, Electronic, Electrical, Chemical, Metallurgical Engineering, or a comparable field.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with customers, internal stakeholders, and external partners while communicating effectively across different audiences.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, equity, and inclusion.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
 
Nice to have
 
  • Specialization or additional studies in technical disciplines, business administration, or management.
  • Balanced experience across both mining companies and mining industry suppliers.
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
  • Experience on site in technical assistance.
  • Experience in mineral processing plants
