Introduction:

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Support Technician to join our USA Consumables team. In this dynamic role, you will play a key part in supporting our customers by providing both technical and commercial expertise. Your deep understanding of our products—along with the ability to interpret customer specific needs—will help drive strong relationships and contribute to our continued success. This position reports to the Senior Manager, TSS USA Mining.

This role offers flexibility with the option to work remotely. Travel is expected approximately 60%–70%, primarily domestic and during the week, with occasional international travel as needed. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on customer interaction, problem-solving, and representing a global industry leader.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide expert technical and commercial support on Consumables products, including Crusher Wears, Mill Lining, and Vibrating equipment.
  • Coordinate closely with Technical Sales Support teams and customers to align schedules, down-day planning, and service needs.
  • Conduct field activities such as measurements, work scope development, parts recommendations, material selection, and product application reviews.
  • Perform or assist with onsite wear measurements and provide technical recommendations as needed.
  • Meet with customers to review wear profiles, optimization plans, and overall product performance.
  • Collect, organize, and share wear data with Product Support and Technical Sales Support teams for reporting and analysis.
  • Support maintenance cost reduction initiatives, reliability improvements, and studies with service hubs and LCS teams.
  •  Follow up on installations, provide feedback for product improvements, maintain market intelligence, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Who you are:

  • 2–5 years of experience in heavy industry, ideally with mineral processing equipment or related products.
  • Working knowledge of crushing, screening, or grinding processes is a strong advantage.
  • Strong communicator with excellent writing, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in a customer focused, service oriented environment with the ability to build effective internal and external relationships.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent practical experience, with a proactive approach to hands on problem solving.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment, and comfortable working under deadlines.
  • Willing and able to travel frequently (sometimes on short notice) and perform occasional physical tasks such as climbing ladders and lifting 25–45 lbs.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with strong time management skills and the ability to navigate schedule changes and customer demands.

What's in it for you:

  • An inspiring purpose - Enabling sustainable modern life. Minerals and metals are the backbone of essential functions in the modern world. However, there's a pressing need for more sustainable solutions to collect and process them. At Metso, you get to be part of transforming the industry and making a positive change.
  • Wellbeing and safety - Benefit from occupational healthcare, generous benefits plan, healthy living rewards, mental well-being services, and engagement surveys.
  • Compensation and rewards - Global incentive program tied to business and performance targets, and car benefits.
  • Hybrid working possibilities - While we are big advocates of meeting and collaborating in person, we believe in fostering a flexible work environment.
  • A thriving culture - We are committed to developing an inclusive culture that enables everyone to do their best and reach their full potential. A culture that is courageous, compelling, and caring, and unites our people to build a sustainable future together.
  • Extensive learning opportunities - Ongoing growth dialogues, internal mobility, mentoring programs, education assistance, ambitious projects, and global opportunities.
  • Worldwide support - Leverage our network of peers across the world, offering valuable assistance. We get things done together, through open and honest communication.
