As Global Operations Controller for the Pump Business Line at Metso, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, financial transparency, and strategic decision-making across our global manufacturing footprint. Metso has 8 manufacturing sites, comprising both small and large production units. This role will take ownership of aligning processes, consolidating operations results, and proactively following up on deviations across these sites.

You will actively support our global operations functional heads—including Procurement, Quality, Supply Chain Development, and HSE—as well as the Global Operations Manager. The role requires full ownership of operational control and finance, ensuring robust internal controls and providing quality-assured, timely financial and non-financial data to understand the organization's position relative to targets. By identifying issues such as under-absorption early, analyzing deviations, integrating newly acquired business lines, and implementing corrective actions, you will enhance efficiency and ensure all operations align with Metso's financial stability and strategic goals.

What you'll do

  • Lead the development, harmonization, and maintenance of KPI reporting for Pump operations, including Power BI dashboards.
  • Drive the operational planning process, enabling effective capacity and resource planning across sites.
  • Act as a strategic partner to local operations in setting hourly rates, overhead burdens, and performance targets.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support investment decisions and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze material cost trends.
  • Supporting investment decisions.
  • Ensure transparency and control of fixed costs within Pump operations.
  • Support the Head of Operations and global functions (e.g., Procurement, Quality, Delivery Management) with ad-hoc analysis and decision support.
  • Participate actively in monthly inventory reviews and contribute to inventory optimization efforts.
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement across manufacturing sites.
  • Contribute to the strategy process with relevant data and scenario analysis.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Industrial Economics.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with strong exposure to product costing and operational controlling.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems (SAP is a plus) and BI tools (Power BI).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across functions and geographies.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
  • Self-driven, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, international environment.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
