Job Overview:

Metso is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join the Service Team in the Middle East and to be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Field engineer will be responsible for Hot kiln alignment services, Tire and roller resurfacing, troubleshooting, alignment, mechanical analysis, and overseeing the replacement of various kiln components.

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform kiln/dryer alignment jobs, including Hot Kiln Alignment, Cold Alignment, kiln tire and roller grinding and kiln thrust adjustments.

  • Conduct comprehensive mechanical inspections and troubleshooting of kilns to improve system reliability.

  • Hands on experience in the Supporting roller and gear replacements, shell sections, Kiln chair pad shimming, Tire replacements, drive alignment services.

  • Provide troubleshooting, guidance, and advisory services during the installation, repair, and operation of kilns, dryers, and bulk material handling equipment.

  • Support warranty processes and Root Cause Analysis RCA when applicable.

  • Experience in reliability engineering, condition monitoring, and improvement strategies.

  • Support Aftermarket Spares and Service Sales with Technical sales support and Sales account managers.

  • Experience in the Inspection and maintenance of Travelling grates, Grinding Mills, Bulk material handling systems and hydraulics systems will be an added advantage.

 

 Educational Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or Diploma in mechanical engineering with equivalent related experience.

  • Millwright certification and/or hydraulics certifications are desirable.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

  • 5-10 years in the Field Services role in Rotary kilns with suitable experience in the processing environment, along with suitable Inspection, troubleshooting, installation and commissioning experience.

  • Proficiency in reliability-centred maintenance and predictive maintenance technologies.

  • Strong understanding of rotary kiln mechanics.

  • Proficiency in rotary kiln alignment surveys using laser and optical tools, analyse thrust loads, ovality, tire migration, and provide technical recommendations for mechanical corrections.

  • Strong mechanical engineering background and basic knowledge of electrical and instrumentation control systems.

  • Ability to travel frequently for extended periods (1 to 6 weeks).

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, kiln survey measurements, and hot kiln alignment and measuring tools.

  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.

 

Travel

 

  • Willing to travel up to 75% within the middle east market area and occasionally expected to travel in other global site locations.
