Metso Saudi Arabia is looking for DCS Operator for Gold Processing Plant is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and optimizing the operation of the gold processing plant through the Distributed Control System (DCS), specifically Siemens PCS7. The role ensures stable operation of crushing, grinding, flotation, POX, CIL, and associated circuits by maintaining process parameters within target ranges, responding to alarms, and coordinating with field operators. The DCS Operator plays a critical role in maximizing throughput, recovery, and plant safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the gold processing plant via the Siemens PCS7 DCS system, ensuring stable and efficient control of crushing, grinding, flotation, POX, CIL, neutralization, filter press, and utility circuits.
• Maintain process parameters within specified ranges, including flow rates, levels, pressures, temperatures, reagent dosages, pH, cyanide concentration, dissolved oxygen, and mass pull.
• Respond promptly to alarms, upsets, and abnormal conditions by taking corrective action or escalating to supervisors.
• Optimize process setpoints to achieve maximum throughput, recovery, and energy efficiency while maintaining product quality and environmental compliance.
• Coordinate closely with field operators and maintenance personnel to ensure smooth plant operation and execution of maintenance tasks.
• Perform routine system checks, trending, and analysis to identify deviations or opportunities for improvement.
• Log plant operating data accurately in shift reports and highlight any unusual events, equipment malfunctions, or parameter deviations.
• Support metallurgists in implementing test work, reagent trials, or process adjustments from the control room.
• Ensure strict compliance with site safety procedures, including cyanide and chemical handling protocols, lockout/tagout coordination, and emergency response readiness.
• Assist in training junior DCS operators and field operators on PCS7 system functions, plant processes, and best practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending control strategy changes, interlocks, or alarm setpoint refinements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Process Operations, Metallurgy, or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience as a DCS Operator in gold processing or hydrometallurgical operations.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens PCS7 or similar DCS systems (DeltaV, Yokogawa, ABB, Honeywell).
• Strong understanding of gold processing circuits, including flotation, POX, CIL, cyanidation, and neutralization.
• Proficient in reading P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and control logic.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills under pressure.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
