MLE Design Engineer

Introduction

We are looking for a Design Engineer – Mill Lining to join our CNS Mill Lining team in the Consumables business area. In this role, you will support product design, production design, technology solutions, and market area activities while contributing to local manufacturing, customer success, and the continuous development of mill lining products.You will report to the Engineering Manager, and the role location is Quzhou, based fully onsite.

You will join a global team focused on mill lining product design, manufacturing support, and technology development. Our team plays a key role in supporting local manufacturing, market area activities, and customer success while driving product performance, quality, and competitiveness.Our team is based in Quzhou and works closely with manufacturing operations, sales teams, and engineering professionals.

What you'll do

• Design and detail metallic, rubber, and polymetallic mill lining products.
• Prepare parts lists, manufacturing templates, drawings, and related engineering documentation using Microsoft Office and engineering design software.
• Create, maintain, and update manufacturing drawings and bill of materials (BOM) data to support plant operations and production requirements.
• Support production teams to ensure efficient manufacturing processes and on-time delivery.
• Provide technical support for mill lining products and collaborate with sales teams to promote the mill lining business in China.
• Participate in the development of new products and the optimization of existing products to improve performance, quality, and competitiveness.
• Support the rubber factory in Quzhou and provide engineering assistance across production sites as required.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality assurance, and compliance in all engineering activities.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in engineering design and technical drawing development.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Good planning, time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
• Ability to work within a production environment and visit customer sites when required.

Nice to have:

• Experience in foundry engineering and rubber manufacturing technologies.
• Experience using AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar engineering design software.
• Experience in mechanical engineering design, production environments, 3D scanning for design applications, and SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
