Introduction

 

We are seeking Service Technicians to join our Prince George Service Center team. You will be responsible for the teardown, inspection, repair, and reassembly of mining‑related mechanical equipment, ensuring all work meets OEM specifications and safety standards. Your role plays a crucial part in delivering high‑quality repair services that support our regional mining and industrial customers. In this position, you will report to the Repair Shop Supervisor.


This position is mainly located in Prince George, and work is primarily conducted on site in the service center.

 

 

Team you belong to

 

You will join a team of skilled mechanical technicians dedicated to providing high‑quality equipment repair, rebuild services, and technical support to the mining and industrial sectors. Our team is currently working on component overhauls, mechanical inspections, equipment rebuilds, and QA/QC documentation.


We work closely with internal stakeholders such as the Administrator, Quality & Coordination Specialist, and other technicians to ensure smooth repair workflow and on‑time delivery. Our team culture focuses on safety, collaboration, precision, and continuous improvement. Team members are located across the regional service network.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Perform teardown, inspection, evaluation, and reassembly of mechanical equipment including pinions, pumps, crushers, and screens.
  • Execute minor and major repairs following OEM specifications and repair procedures.
  • Use precision measurement tools (micrometers, pi tapes, indicators, scales) to verify tolerances and component condition.
  • Utilize hydraulic pullers, presses, and thermal installation techniques for bearings, gears, and assemblies.
  • Maintain accurate QA/QC documentation including inspection sheets, measurements, and work orders.
  • Follow all HSE standards, participate in safety meetings, and maintain a clean, organized 5S workspace.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support workflow efficiency and problem resolution.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts, including process optimization and workshop organization.


Who you are

 

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose equipment issues.
  • Skilled in reading engineering drawings and interpreting technical documentation.
  • Proficient with precision measurement tools.
  • Knowledge of bearings, gears, bushings, seals, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Reliable, organized, and detail‑focused, especially regarding documentation.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Nice to have: Experience in mining, aggregates, or heavy industrial equipment.
  • Nice to have: Technical diploma, apprenticeship, or equivalent trade experience.
  • Willingness to obtain safety certifications and First Aid training.

For positions that may be performed in Ontario, the expected salary range is $70,000.00 – $85,000.00 CAD per year. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on skills, experience, and role-related qualifications. Compensation for roles performed outside Ontario will be determined in accordance with applicable local laws and market conditions.
