Introduction
We are seeking a Product Support Expert – Grinding Solutions to join our Canada Market Area (MA) team. You will be responsible for providing expert-level support across all aspects of grinding technology, which involves working closely with Service Sales teams, Field Services personnel, and End Customers to ensure the successful delivery of technical solutions, process optimization, and after-market support. Your role plays a crucial part in contributing to strategic business growth and industry innovation. In this position, you will report to the Director - Process Solutions.
This position is mainly located in Prince George, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements in other Canadian regions. However, this position requires 50% of traveling both domestic and international.

You will join a team of grinding technology experts dedicated to providing top-notch technical support and customer engagement. We are currently working on strategic business growth and industry innovation. We work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as Service Sales teams, Field Services personnel, and End Customers. What you’ll do:
- Collaborate closely with Canadian Services Sales teams and the Grinding Business Line.
- Develop a clear understanding of market competencies, customer activities, needs, and future opportunities.
- Contribute to the development and execution of yearly sales plans and quarterly rolling estimates.
- Provide advanced technical support in troubleshooting, process knowledge, operations, and maintenance of Grinding technology.
- Specialize in specific Grinding technologies to offer expert-level support for site operations, technical incidents, and problem resolution.
- Coordinate and investigate incidents related to Grinding systems.
- Partner with Site Account Managers to identify, evaluate, and secure sales opportunities.
- Act as the market area's sales champion for Grinding products.
- Participate in customer meetings for sales presentations, technical demonstrations, and commercial negotiations.
- Maintain competitive pricing insights by monitoring outcomes of quotes and engaging with stakeholders.
- Own and manage the Open Proposal list for Grinding products—drive business through regular updates and monthly reporting.
- Lead the Market Share Analysis process by collaborating with account managers to maintain installed base data and estimated spend values.
- Work with product support teams to identify opportunities for sales packages and new product development.
- Collaborate and maintain technical sales materials: Sales Manuals, Specifications, Drawings, and Product Presentations.
- Ensure timely progression of sales cases from lead generation to proposal, negotiation, contract execution, and handover to Delivery teams.
- Support Services sales management and marketing teams in developing programs to generate new business opportunities.
- Assist with field service sales activities, warranty handling, installed base validation, inspection report reviews, and recommendations.
- Must be able to travel frequently and on short notice as required.
Who you are:
- University Degree or Technology Diploma in Mineral Processing or Mining Engineering (required).
- Minimum 10+ years of industry experience in a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in:
Installation, troubleshooting, instruction, repair, and technical investigations.
Preparing complex technical assessments and developing corrective actions.
Equipment erection techniques and job site preparation.
Plant operations with a focus on process performance analysis, optimization, and troubleshooting.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of Metso Grinding equipment and related processes. - Ability to read and interpret:
Mechanical drawings
Hydraulic and electrical schematics
Product specifications and data sheets - Strong problem-solving ability under pressure, especially in production-critical environments
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Proficient in Salesforce (preferred).
- Strong spoken and written English is required.
- French language skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments, priorities, and deadlines
