Introduction

 

 

 

We are looking for a Proposal Engineer – Bulk Material Handling to join our Global Bulk Proposal Support team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and estimating proposals for bulk material handling equipment, contributing to delivering technically sound, competitive proposals and improving global proposal processes and customer satisfaction. You will report to the Proposals Manager. 

This role is based in Pittsburgh, PA, USA and/or York, PA, USA, with hybrid working options available. 

This role includes approximately 20% travel domestically and internationally.

You will join a team of proposal and estimation experts focused on delivering high-quality, competitive proposals for bulk material handling solutions. Our team plays a key role in global proposal standardization and supporting proposal requests across regions, with a shared focus on technical excellence and competitiveness. 

We collaborate closely with Global Engineering, Product Line Teams, Procurement, and external suppliers. 

Our team is based in the US, Brazil, and India, and our ways of working emphasize proactive communication, continuous improvement, and collaboration. 

 

 


What you’ll do

 

 

  • Analyze customer specifications and perform design calculations to meet requirements
  • Prepare proposals for new equipment, retrofits, replacements, and spare parts
  • Ensure proposals are technically feasible, commercially competitive, and risk-mitigated
  • Collaborate with suppliers and procurement to obtain accurate quotations
  • Perform project handovers to the contracts team
  • Support internal process improvements and maintain documentation
  • Interpret technical drawings and customer data sheets
  • Ensure confidentiality and protection of intellectual property 

 

 


What you’ll bring

 

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years of experience in bulk material handling equipment
  • Strong knowledge of proposal and estimation processes
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suites
  • Strong problem-solving and engineering skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
  • Experience with SAP and Salesforce (nice to have)
  • Spanish language skills (nice to have)
