We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer who will be responsible for electrical design and technical support related to Metso BMH Engineering for product development and customer project delivery.

  

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

 The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the engineering and engineering support of the entire line of GBP equipment. Tasks will include:

 

  • Develop project requirements and develop basis of design.
  • Power system analysis and design of electrical systems and components for bulk handling equipment.
  • Perform calculations and documentation to support the electrical design.
  • Test and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Work with CAD design team to develop electrical drawings.
  • Support proposal and sales team with electrical cost estimates. 
  • Visit customer sites.

 

WHO YOU ARE:

 

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor of Engineering or technology in Electrical / Electronics / Electronics and telecommunication / Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent with a minimum experience of 7 years, a preferred experience of 10 years.
  • Design and engineering experience in engineering equipment for the Mining, Mineral process or similar to bulk material handling.
  • Experience on Switchboard and Substation Design | VVVF Drive | Cable sizing | Equipment electrical layout | Cable schedule preparation is mandatory
  • Ability to perform Power System Calculations and Analysis including fault level, load flow, harmonics, earthing, arc flash, and equipment sizing.
  • Capability to make decisions independently while working as part of a team. 
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Variable speed drive design and commissioning.
  • Bulk material handing process experience.
  • Factory Acceptance Testing
  • Ability to travel to site for commissioning activities
  • Excellent communication and effective interpersonal skills are required as this role will have frequent interactions with internal / external customers, and suppliers while supporting product development and customer projects.         

  

Desirable Experience

  • Configuring and troubleshooting industrial controls systems and industrial instrumentation.
  • Control system software PLC and SCADA development
  • Designing process automation solutions for OEM equipment.
  • Project and schedule management.
  • Functional Safety.
  • Proposal and sales support.
  • Membership to Institute of Engineers (or eligible).
