Introduction
We are seeking an IT Specialist to join our IT team. The IT Specialist is pivotal in supporting and providing exceptional service to the Australia and South East Asia business areas. You are a proactive customer service-oriented individual who will be responsible for business and factory software and applications, ready to deliver high value, performance and reliability, and ensure compliance.
This position reports to the Country IT Manager, APA and can be based from our Perth or Sydney office.
What you’ll do
• Manage software and applications, including business, IT and factory, across market area APA (Australia & SEA region) with focus on excellence in performance, availability, support and compliance.
• Manage customer incidents and service requests in the relation to local applications and software, monitor ticket queues and ensure timely resolution to maintain high NPS satisfaction.
• Manage application operations, including upgrades, security updates, maintenance, configuration changes, and change management following ITSM practices and processes.
• Manage local software subscriptions, licencing and vendor agreements; utilise various tools to report and automate licence utilisation tracking and ensure compliance.
• Lead the evaluation and development of new and existing applications.
• Develop plans and roadmaps for migration of applications to cloud platforms, evaluating internal / vendor hosted and SaaS solutions; assess risk and feasibility to determine business cases.
• Coordinate application packaging and deployment, create streamlined and automated processes for seamless end-to-end user experience from access request to approvals and assignment.
• Pursue opportunities for application harmonisation and consolidation.
• Seek opportunities to optimise total software and application operating costs, improve efficiency, reduce overheads, participate in budgeting and software cost tracking, provide reporting.
• Implement practices and policies for security and data protection, ensure applications comply with internal guidelines and directives, as well as local and EU legislative regulations.
• Create and maintain application baseline support information in various systems including CMDB, CSDM, Contract Library, Knowledgebase, and other platforms.
• Collaborate with application owners to determine application criticality, analyse downtime business impact, develop business continuity plans.
• Coordinate and execute failover and recovery testing to ensure application recoverability in variety of adverse events, provide reporting
• Report on risks and vulnerabilities with software and applications, coordinate corrective actions to mitigate, address and resolve
• Provide business awareness training, upskilling and support with M365 SharePoint, PowerApps, and PowerBI.

Who you are
• Relevant tertiary qualifications with 8+ years of experience working in roles including application management.
• Working knowledge and experience across broad range of IT technologies including infrastructure, servers, databases and software.
• Experience with business analysis, consulting, solution design and development working with variety of technical and non-technical people.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with ability to efficiently diagnose and route or resolve technical issues.
• Understanding and experience working with service management approaches such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
• Excellent critical thinking skills with continuous improvement mindset, ability to work autonomously and independently to deliver exceptional results.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple geographically dispersed locations, maintain professionalism, calm and positive under pressure.
• Demonstrated excellent English communication and interpersonal skills, ability to effectively communicate with customers at all levels.
• Willingness to attend meetings outside of business hours, be available for response to major incidents and support resolution after-hours.
• Demonstrated ability to work flexibly within tight time schedules and in accordance with variable workload demands
